Hey there, Maria: I truly appreciate that you do this. Your recommendations are so appreciated and it helps me to decide which books to check out.
Wow, it took him ten years to write his book. He really took his time. I will need to start concentrating on my next book. I still need to pull my first book to check it thoroughly again for errors. This is why, my next book will be written very carefully and slowly. It needs to be perfect this time around.
I love what you have written below here. This part of your recommendation really makes me want to see what it is that you enjoyed so much - for myself. I have enjoyed this recommendation. You truly show me how this is supposed to be done.
However, what makes this book, which took ten years to write, unique is the author's mastery of language and detail. Besides, his prose is so full of imaginative metaphors and wonderful similes that it often reads like poetry.
have to say I envy Doerr's talent. I think that apart from enjoying myself, I have learned an awful lot reading this marvellous tale. I read almost exclusively on my Kindle, but if I had bought the paperback, I would have underlined something on almost every page.
Great!

MJ,
Sounds like a wonderful book. I'll add that one to my list of must-reads, though lately, I haven't had time for much reading AT ALL! (shhhhh...) I spend so much time with my grandbaby and on here! Thanks again!

I can imagine the admiration you have for the author. Although it's been awhile since I've read a novel because other short works have me occupied, I receive similar feelings from authors works here on FanStory, believe it or not. I will keep this author in mind. I wish you many more reading experiences.

This is an encouraging review. I am interested in reading this book. The two characters you describe make me want to know more about them. I also like how you mention the book is like reading poetry.

A very well-written review of the book 'All the light we cannot see.' When we can see the light it means we understand the meaning of something. Then the light we cannot see is things above our understanding.

Thanks for the book tip. Sounds very interesting. I generally don't like books written in a poetic way, but the sentence you quoted doesn't seem so bad. Think I'll go to amazon now and have a "look inside" the book. :)

It's not poetic as in pedantic or too convoluted. When I wrote that sentence I worried some people might misunderstand. I should have explained differently. I hope the look inside helps, but bear in mind that the first few pages are the least attractive.

Hi Maria. I enjoyed this book recommendation, although I may not read this one. Your review is written well and you've touched upon all the aspects that a prospective reader would be interested in knowing.
To me, this is an important statement and what I live by: "the importance of enjoying the present and the fact that we all leave a mark on this earth, even if we think we don't. Every action has a repercussion, even the smallest one." Marilyn
