Well, readers cannot say that they have not been warned! I like the unusual rhyme scheme where two final lines of each stanza rhymes, while the first two lines are random. A sort of dreaded truth shines through the allegorical picture painted.

interesting rhyming scheme you've employed here with the internal in the first two lines and the couplets in the third and fourth of each verse. Works very well indeed - is there a specific name for this?

SIX STARS for you, dear poet. There's no need in me even entering this contest since I've read your delightfully scary scenarios. Whoa, that photo is simply horrifying and scary. The background fonts and colors go so well with Halloween colors. This poem has scared me and made me scared to open my door at Halloween and I'm not going to any stores at night on Halloween, because that's when robbers have excuses to wear masks and hold up stores, etc. MARVELOUS! lol liberty justice

Well. That's done it. I can't go out at night for a while! A great poem carefully done and with a spooky picture, too. I also like the use of little used adjectives like 'stygian'. Very good, thanks.

This certainly deserves all time best. Scared the bejesus out of me. Great combo of background and font color. I loved the rhyme scheme of inner rhyme and line rhyme. It had a great cadence.
