Children seem to grow up way too fast now and days! Such a shame ...We all wish for those carefree days and when children are forced to grow up too soon,"Is a certain proof and shows quite clearly" for sure.. :-/

Dip, This is a very well written poem about childhood and how they have to grow up so fast. I know that is true from my own experiences. You used very good descriptive wording and great imagery with the adorable picture. blessings, Teri

This is an excellent AABB with a message for all parents and caregivers. Love the dangling feel in the water. Absolutely right

Oh yes, that children could stay children but just a while longer. Seems like these days, more than ever, childhood just flashes by. I wish my son was young again...especially during the holidays!! Wonderful Mr. Dip!! Blessings...

A wonderful poem with excellent pace and
rhyme form. But your message in this piece is
also significant. Children do indeed grow up too
fast in our world. War and poverty and child abuse
lay claim to so many children. In my case, the children
I work with often share what they wish they could do
or could have done, such as many of the examples you
list. -Bill

I miss the days of my sons growing up more than my own growing up days, although they were great. There's too much emphasis on pushing children forward to success these days. Let them be children. It goes fast enough as it is.

Yes we do, we miss it and then when we have children we watch them grow up too fast as we age also. We are so busy enjoying watching our children as they grow that we forget to enjoy our years. Then we reach an age where we look back at our years and wish we could live it all over again. So I strongly agree with you, my friend, "Ah, the innocence of the child."
