This short, short story, Cuban Cigars, is a neat tale of a colorful character, whose presence is memorable and delightful. Uncle Frank is the exotic traveler, full of adventures and descriptions that fan the flames and burn in the imagination of a young boy. A cool tale of a brief visit.

This is a very poignant story, mystery author, and well told. I can see your Uncle reminiscing about Cuba and all the towns he was familiar with.

A lady told me on an airplane a few months back that it would be best to get to Cuba sooner rather than later. The rates are still cheap, but once people start to visit more, everything will go up in price.

This is a superb story about your uncle implanting his home into your mind. Expressing himself with the cigar helped the image of Cuba. That place still lingers in your mind today.

A good read, well put together. Would have liked it a bit more if you could have filled out your uncles' character more fully. Now that Cuba is opening up it does indeed sound like a place to visit.

Dressed in a slightly rumpled white cotton suit with narrow lapels. White patent leather wing-tip shoes; a bit scuffed but in overall good shape.
Tell me if I'm miles off...
I have a similar wish on my own bucketlist but the countries I feel inexorably drawn to are Ireland and Great Britain.
Hopefully you're able to fulfill your wish and make it to Cuba.
In lieu of that, perhaps you'll be satisfied just by placing first in this contest?
