That was really very good, Bill!! You've easily wrapped up a whole lifetime in these few amazing lines and aren't they the truth? The life you've led is epitomized in this contest entry. I know one grandpa who would be very proud of you. :) Well done, my friend and good luck! Sandra xx

This is a short and concise poem of the path of life from birth to death. The baby is a cute and apt picture of the first part. It looks like the baby is pondering the footprints he/she will leave in life.

Good luck in the contest.

Keep writing

Short and sweet and great, Billy. Like the one below - for an answer...

My son, my executioner,
I take you in my arms,
Quiet and small and just astir
And whom my body warms.

Sweet death, small son, our instrument
Of immortality,
Your cries and hungers document
Our bodily decay.

From beginning to end, we see the complete circle, of innocence to the fruits of change, where life takes command and brings us to that end.
A nice image in depicting your theme.
Best wishes.

A very well-written short poem. Our lives are just like a moment. As soon as we are born we start to die. That is the reason why we should live everyday as if it is our last.

This poem seems to me to have some positive lights about it and I like reading it.
It would put a person in a good mood and be utilized as an affirmation or as
something to meditate upon.

A beautiful and a powerful short cradle to grave poem about life. The lines I love the most are your last two:

Having made my footprints in life,
I proudly die.

I am reminded of butterflies or some other forms of life who give their all to procreate and then die.

This is fine use of imagery and word.

Thank you for sharing. I wish you contest success.

I enjoyed reading your short poem "My Alpha Omega". It is good to hear that you are happy with your life -so many people are not in today's world. Stay happy.
All the best
Marybell1.
