Lovely tanka.
Straightforward, but with an interesting message.
Teamwork is always important.
Your words are a perfect echo for the picture.
Thanks for sharing.

Cheers, Patty;
-my first impression after reading your poem or tanka was the fact that you chosen to do the traditional 5/7/5/7/7 or 31 syllable format.
-I like the congruency of the enjambment of your tanka as it flows smoothly throughout the writing is because of the grammatically interaction and connection between the two thought processes of conceptual theme to create one desirable conceptual theme or thought.
-The pivot line, as you mentioned in your author's notes, definitely holds together the first and second conceptual themes but developed the two into one viable understanding.
-Thank you for sharing this Patty is I enjoyed the writing very much and it brought back the time when I was in Catholic school inside of a classroom like the picture expresses.
-I also failed to mention that the humor of this tanka was very enjoyable.
-Make peace and harmony be with you always, Patty and take care and have a good one.

Your interpretation of the art work is artistically phrased and emulates the picture in poetic fashion, painting this canvas with your words.
Well done

Hi Patty. I've read quite a few of these 'Picture This' poems for this particular challenge. To me, your interpretation of the picture is bang on! I can easily see these kids saying the words in your poem. You've captured the essence of the image in your Ekphrastic poem. So very well done! ~~ Connie

Hi there;
thank you so much for your kind words. I'm glad you could 'see' the little boys talking within the words of my poem,

Sounds like you got lucky and caught some kids talking in five and seven syllable bursts. Sounds very natural and goes well with the Picturethis picture. I won't presume to judge it as a Tanka...not my field. Excellent.

Your tanka is very nice and you have the correct amount of syllables.
The middle line ties every line together.
Your tanka is personal and emotional, two buddies sticking together.
Congratulations on being recognized.

Hello Patty,
It's been a little while since I reviewed one of your works. Seems like this poem would be a hard on to create based on the rules you posted. But you managed to pull it off quite well.

Good morning again, Patty:
As this is the Picture This poem, I have seen many different poems for this photo. Your interpretation of this picture is just as possible as the rest and is interesting. It is interesting to see the differences in the poets views of each picture. I would not be joing this group as I don't have the time but I will review them. Great job!
