Hello Barb
I can see how you know of how a five year old girl want to dress like her Mom. What I liked is how you wrote of how Shana explained to Emily what different types of clothing people wear. Then I addressed different types of clothes that are appropriate for certain events.
I take it the abuse that Patricia went through will be next (or has it been told in one of your past chapters?

Gert

It hasn't been told and I'm not sure how much of it I will go into. It doesn't really move the story along; just that it happened. Thank you for the kind review.

Hi Barbara.... I've been off of here for awhile... not feeling well. But, I'm back and hope to get back into the swing of things. I enjoyed this chapter. I haven't read the others but this was quite interesting. I did read your info on the characters, which was enlightening. I can definitely see a 5 yr old wanting to look like their Momma... appropriate or not. It seems like she might understand what was explained to her about how to dress, and be treated, like a lady. I got the feeling that Anderson Sharp wants everyone to do everything for him.... his money talks... and that he should probably take a more personal interest in his daughter and her needing his actualy.... loving... attention. Might be wrong on that, but that's what came to me as I read this small part of the chapter. I always love your work. Great to be reading it again. Gramalot8

Lovely work with this chapter. Children are so complicated and need gentle handling when in difficult situations. I think Shana handled this very well and I agree, she definitely needs counseling to discuss the abuse she has witnessed.

Another intriguing installment. Perhaps the ex-wife isn't all bad. Hopefully Emily only saw the abuse and wasn't a victim herself. Hopefully a therapist can help her. I look forward to seeing if my desires become reality. Well done.

A well written piece and a snippet of the story and not quite sure where it is going, but I must read your previous work for the story so far! Intriguing, love Dolly x

Good chapter. You can learn so much about parents by speaking to their kids, as you know from being a teacher. If parents only knew some of the secrets their kids give away... LOL!

G'day Barbara.

"Emily leaped from her bed and took it from him. "My party dress! Did it come with shoes?" ( Hahahaha! Well played.)

"I'm not sure Shana's had experience with headstrong young girls."  (I have now. Champers is 9yo and can be very strong-headed.)

Some great advice for the kid there. Sadly, it is true of so many.

Another great chapter, my friend.

Cheers Fez

In this sad chapter we read that Emily has been shown a poor example of womanhood by her mother. Emily is only five and no longer wishes to look cute, she wishes to look like an adult party girl. Fortunately, they were able to settle on the dress, but with heels. I hope she can walk in them!
