Nermaids,
In this case, it's the goofed up humans who are presently violating the Yeti and their civil rights for the winter. What's next? Should the Yeti march on Washington and stuff Donald Trump in s display case? I'd give this a go myself if it weren't for the fact that I take care of my mother. She has Alzheimer's Disease now.

Best wishes for your mother and how wonderful you take care of her. I work as a nurse in a nursing home with Alzheimer's patients. Love your comment about Donald Trump. Thanks for reading and enjoying. Elaine

Well done giving the human readers a compassionate view from the yeti's perspective! I like that the yeti and the snow leopard are friends. They both are rather sought after by nosy humans. Fun poem!

Comment from His Grayness
This is a really clever and innovative twist on the presence of the human and the Gorilla and very well done in free verse. The photography is certainly captivating and the assumption of what the Gorilla would think is very likely so overall, it's an amusing and very well presented work in all ways. I have not recommendations to improve this work in any way and thank this author for a big smile! HIS GRAYNESS; Vance

What a great job of presenting the monster's point of view. Those silly hairless apes. On your next one, try the Advanced Editor on you writing page. I can see this one in a Gothic style font with a snowy white background. It's a lot of fun!
Have a great day and God bless.

Great artwork to enhance this lovely poem written from the viewpoint of the Yeti. You have to wonder what they think about the hairless beings that walk in their hunting areas. Well phrased and a joy to read,

This is pretty cool, Mermaids. I enjoyed your look at humans from the viewpoint of a Yeti. We think we're at the top of the heap, don't we? Perhaps we aren't. I mean, I could mention a couple of crazies in the world today, leaders of their countries who toss slander at each other. Don't they realize there are millions of innocent people behind them? They could take us into a nuclear war just because they can't control their tongues and live in harmony.
Yes, perhaps we are the "unreal oddities", which I think should be the title of your poem.
Thanks for sharing.
cheers

Comment from Meia (MESAYERS)
the ice and cold are
a pleasure to my senses
these strange creatures
shiver in the cold air
I wait for their presence
each year as the winter
embraces my home
unreal oddities ...I loved your word choices there was a slightly spooky (should I say, chilling??) air about this written from the point of view of the hunted creature. well done this is marvellous kind regards Meia xx

I liked the turnaround. We surely look like weak links come wintertime. The occasional slant rime is also a nice touch. The only suggestion that I might offer is to have a stronger verb that "wait" in the first line of your last stanza...one that is closer to the disadain the Yeti has previously shown.

How strange we must sometimes seem to othher creatures, with our range of weird behaviours! I have sometimes looked at animals in the zoo in just this way, wodering what they are thinking about the gawking spectators! We are hairless apes, indeed!
Nice use of enjambment between 'snow' and 'leopard'.

Comment from Lucian Carter
I love it. The reversed point of view is an inspired structure. You do a great job capturing a foreign mindset in the Yeti. There are still places in the world where humanity is the intruder. This reminds us all of that.
I like the length. The free verse flows smoothly. I have no improvements to suggest.
