Okay, Bret:
We get it! You want to make sure that we know how much you want to thank us for reading your stories. I know what you mean though about the time that you dedicate to Fan Story. I have to try to cut back some on the time I am committing to reviewing and posting. Sometimes i am reading and reviewing for six - seven hours a night and this is too much time because i surely must spend more time with my family and in my spiritual obligations. God must come first, then family but Fan Story seems to be getting a lot of that time. I feel awful about that. If you are only spending an hour a day, here and there like you said in your poem, then you are doing great because i don't see how that is possible. From time to time just do some reading yourself. That is how I thank my readers. I try my best to keep up with reading and reviewing their work as they read mine.
Anyway, thank you for the poem. I see that you have posted about three or four other posts. I still have 25 messages re: notifications about posted pieces, such as yours. i will try to read most of them this morning..
Last week I went on vacation to Ohio. When I returned there were about 80 messages, since then I have read and review all of them. I have now 25 new messages. It is a vicious cycle.

Glad you enjoyed this post.
One hour a day is not that much time, but, because of other commitments, it is all I have most days.
I stay far behind in reviewing and responding to messages I receive.
However, I do eventually seem to get to them all.

Thats good Brett. Believe me I do know how time consuming it is. I need to cut back my self. Okay, have a great day my friend.

Hi Brett. In reading this I come away with two important things that I feel and agree with strongly-- 1) we are nothing without our wonderful readers and 2) keep the language simple. After all, we want people to understand what we are trying to convey. Straightforward honest is always a good bet. Marilyn

Glad you enjoyed this posting.
My readers are very important to me. Without them, as you said, we writers are nothing.

You are doing fine.
I like your thoughts about writing, and I appreciate what writing does for you. I live for writing; sometimes it is all that keeps me going.
You needn't worry about thanking people so much. You bring us pleasure.

Hello, Brett,
Thank you, for writing this poem to us. I feel more appreciated -- thank you!!
I may not be back on here for awhile. I am weighing everything. I don't think I'll be missed at all, LOL! I'll still read stuff and review for free, LOL! I'm sure Tom isn't storing up member points to reattach to my account when (and if) I come back.
Just keep on writing, okay? Take care.

Glad you enjoyed this poem.
I intend to keep writing. It's what I do.
Perhaps you will return, and if not, there are a million other places out there a person can go to write.
FanStory is not the end of the writing universe. Only a tiny little corner of it.
Have had similar thoughts myself before.
Best wishes in whatever endeavors you seek.

Hi, Brett! This is a very heartfelt free verse poem!
Although it does not have a formal poetic structure/genre, it does have poetic elements, which is what makes it free verse. It has repetition, meter, some rhyme, all effective.
I really like the theme, the gratitude of the writer to the reader, which is not often addressed. There is this sense that the audience is supposed to be grateful for what the artist produced, but it is a reciprocal relationship.
Thanks for sharing this!

But do you thank your readers enough? lol
Nice write as always Brett the biggest thing is we all become slaves to the system And there are just not enough hours in the day to reciprocate. I really like simple non flowery words Brett it's the way I have always written my poems as well.
Thanks for sharing

Awww, this is great, and a question we could all ask ourselves. I love how you've repeated your question throughout. As for 'big words'...I personally don't like reading anything that I have to struggle to understand, I think most feel the same. Wonderful!! Blessings....

Hi Brett,
I always like the things you write.
You are very great in writing them too.
Saying "thanks to your friends" is wonderful.
When you say thanks to many of them at once is okay too.
