This is a beautifully written poem that I enjoyed reading. I'm wondering if you were in MY garden. I have all those plants. You've incorporated them into a well flowing and described poem with great rhyming. Congratulations on placing in the contest. Marilyn

I can certainly identify with nasturtium growing capriciously at the moment! Don't they just! Parts of our garden are all but smothered by them. I liked your descriptions of the various flowers in the garden and the whimsy of your little garden helper, far more appealing than the slugs and snails that invade mine - but then perhaps that is because I'm a boy. Even the imprint of paws in the seed beds is evidence of puppy dogs' tails having been at work! I know that the contest requires the use of the four highlighted words, but I found the highlighting a bit distracting. Perhaps that is just a matter of personal preference.
A "New Eden that we won't abuse"! I wonder? A change of heart by the inhabitants of the Eden we have might be more to the point!

My wife has urged some nasturtiums to climb a small metal tower. We are lucky not to have snails or slugs, but my daughter's dog often takes liberties. Thanks so much for sharing. I put the required words in bold print because the Contest Review Committee is often blind.

This is a dear little poem. It has a sweet, child- like ring to it. The Artwork is a beautiful picture, emphasising the innocence of the piece, Her lacey dress and diminutive size make her a perfect subject for this poem. The birds speaking to the angel is a charming devise to underscore her Heavenly nature. I can almost see that white dove alighting on her arm, her small fingers stroking its snowy plumage, its little face turned up to hers. Delightful, fresh and lovely . Well done cheers Cass

I did strive to write this for ALL audiences, so I am delighted "Angel" has a "child-like ring" to it. Thanks so much for sharing, Cass, and for your very kind praise.

I enjoyed reading your Angel Poem, "An Angel is My Gardener". You rhymed it well but you did not explain why certain were in bold (Was it in the contest ?) You followed the rules by good rhyming and you chose a beautiful picture,
All the best
Marybell1.

magnificent, angelical picture. BOO's favorite quatrain: And on her arm a dove alights.
"A peaceful place on earth," it coos,
"is what all creatures need the most.
New Eden that we won't abuse."
Hard choice. Whole poem is awesome. A virtual six since i don't have six.
Enjoyed it very much.keep on writing.

A poetic treat for gardners and with the added extra of knowing there is a heavenly spirit nearby to help out while we rest -what a lovely idea - what a beautiful pic

This is truly a beautiful and lovely rhyming poem about angels you have penned for the contest. You used very good descriptive wording and great imagery. My favorite stanza's was:
the rambling rose bush near my house,
its dew-kissed buds, their sweet bouquet.

Hydrangeas bloom by bleeding hearts.
Nasturtiums grow capriciously
while bright pink phlox has now sprung up
amidst the ferns suspiciously.

You described the flowers so well I could envision them in a garden. Best wishes in the contest. Teri
