Your peice hit it right on the nose: isolation. My wife and I too, became, disgusted, quit believing in Christian hyprocrites, and everything Republican since Trump. And quit looking and reading the news. So now we judge people individually. But we need someone like Kasic(spell check).

Was this an apology? I think so. But how can you avoid politics in the nation now? Everything has been politicized. This site included. At home, I try reading the newspaper (I live in a small town, but get the state's major paper) and you would think they had a macro on their computers that mention the GOP-dominated state legislature...funds donated to conservative candidates (for any office) are always referred to as "dark money." I had a friend in California whose roommate was a poll worker and said she could tell Trump voters "by the way they smelled." They live in Santa Barbara by the way. Changed my relationship with a friend I'd had for sixty years. So, now I bite my lip and keep my mouth closed, but resentment is building within...Isolate? Don't believe it's achievable.
Well, enough of me raving on. I didn't vote for the current president, but there was no way I would ever have voted for Madam Secretary. Best regards, B.B. Rose

That said, however, I am afraid that I have to disagree with your harsh assessment of yourself, and a passionate piece - without passion, life would be boring indeed, IMO. Words are words, and a civilized human being can (or SHOULD be able to) use them with passion without inciting violence, IF the recipients are also civilized. ?? And after all, is that not what we are, a civilized society? (We should not have to become robotic; bury emotion, should we?)
Hmm... wonderfully thought-provoking my friend, and well-said. My only suggestion would be to divide into two or tree paragraphs, simply because some readers will skip work if it appears too 'bulky'.

Yeah, I agree sometimes the blokes Down-Under are dim as a 20 volt light bulb but we read and we enjoy a good old rant, knock yourself out. Just think about the smaller audience, us little blokes. Sometimes when writing, I just overlook such things and only consider that I'm in touch with only USA! That's inexcusable when I'm so close to Doggymad and Irish rain. so I do appreciate your thump on the skull (like my Dad used to do)!! Thing is, I think you may be mixing up Ego and the Id. The base, fight or flight, eat or be eaten instincts come from the Id, assuming we're talking Freudian terms. The ego is the regulator between the higher being (the superego) and the Id. Or were you using ego more colloquially?
Bottom line, this is not a great piece of literature. So I won't be giving it 5-stars. That doesn't diminish what you said, or what it means to you. For a piece like this, rating really doesn't matter, does it?
