Hello my dear friend, I very much enjoyed reading this beautifully written poem. I think that this is a great entry for the writing prompt. There's a beautiful flow in the sets very soft and subtle. I enjoyed reading your poem. Not only does this meet the contest criteria, the bonus is that it was a pleasure to read. True to life. So many people have this happen to them on the first time around. I liked the hopeful, encouraging ending:
Your prince awaits, one day you'll meet
He'll love you true, and bow at your feet
Your love story will come, it just hasn't been told
But first, you must cut ties with the old
