This speaks of those halcyon, carefree days of our youth when we would go camping with family and friends during the summer months, Dan.
I don't believe it is written in any particular form or meter, but is gets the point across adequately enough.

What a sweet (and tasty) use of words to describe the joy of fishing and enjoying the fruits of one's own labor. The final stanza about cleaning the fish is so true to my own childhood experience - but didn't keep me off the dock either.
