I enjoyed reading your thoughtful essay. These are ideas that need discussion. You theorize on some general investigation of real wonders in your composition, i.e., genius, ignorance, ego, and the current administration. They all deal with our consciousness, true. But I can't agree with everything you state. What I will agree on, or think about, is your collection of thoughts on the ego, because I have nothing to counter them with at this point, perhaps I could add some things. I realize there is so much more to learn about the ego that's hasn't been offered yet. Genius is innovation. Ignorance is perpetual birth, and our current administration... well. Thank you for sharing, great piece.

I don't usually read the essays and stories, but your title caught my eye ("Dreaming"). I'm very interested in the subject of dreams and their meaning. Your essay was very enlightening, insightful and well-received. I like the many scientists and their quotes you mentioned in your essay and you used a great artwork piece. Best wishes!

I enjoyed the essay and found myself understanding where you were coming from after I got into it. You let me know by learning we can have more control over our own space. But going through the same things with the same people each day is not moving forward. In fact, we are being controlled by the frequency that controls our lives. Maybe I can not explain it the way you know it, but I see it makes some sense.

Outstanding essay. I agree 100% with almost all you say. The one line I do not agree with is: "To give credit to any other entity for putting our atoms together in a cohesive and intelligent form is ludicrous."

I do not necessary DISAGREE either. The fact is, we do not know if there is a Divine Being separate from Mother Earth. I like to think of Mother Earth and 'The Great Spirit (supreme consciousness) as one and the same. But I feel the word LUDICROUS in that sentence sounds presumptuous. I recommend toning it down and softening it by saying it is just an opinion, rather than stating it as fact.

Example edits to soften that line:

"In my opinion, to give credit to any other entity for putting our atoms together in a cohesive and intelligent form is ludicrous."

"To give credit to any other entity for putting our atoms together in a cohesive and intelligent form is ludicrous, in my opinion."

"To give credit to any other entity for putting our atoms together in a cohesive and intelligent form is, I feel, ludicrous."

This is lucid and intelligent. It's supremely articulate, penetrating and insightful. However, it does need a clean up of some minor spag issues

NOTES

* Like all animals, (indeed all organic life,) we borrow atoms from Mother Earth to create our form until the time comes to give them back to her.

Spaggy. Suggest:

Like all animals (indeed all organic life), we borrow atoms from Mother Earth to create our form until the time comes to give them back to her.

*The sixth sense is, of course, the element of balance, which is the only rule of staying alive.

I believe the sixth sense is intuition. Interesting word choice of balance.

Thought provoking. I would delete 'of course' though, because not everyone would agree that to be a fact.

* You have to be to be alive and conscious(,) and Washington is not the reason for that.

*The phony beliefs and values you have been convinced to think (of) as true is(ARE not IS) the reason why someone like the current administration is in Washington.

Very insightful:

We are the dominant species of the planet, not because of our superior thinking ability, but because of being able to believe things that are not true.

AGREE (and well said):

If truth ruled, all corporations would be non-profit, war would be outlawed, no person would be ignored or judged, and everyone would be treated as a family member.

Outstanding complex metaphor:

If you use a radio, you may know that AM/FM means amplitude modulation and FM means frequency modulation. That is how we as human beings receive our understanding of what we experience.

PERFECT PHRASING: We are radio receivers of the universe we envision.

* The difference between creation and reaction is the sequence of their letters(,) and to react without thought is a huge problem for me and society.

Outstanding articulation here (and so true, too):

Ego is an artificial construct that can be cajoled, hypnotized and made to do unnatural acts, like going to war, competing, believing lies and judging itself as "better than" other egos. It is the source of all ills on this planet and must be understood before effective change can occur globally.

(suggest a new paragraph here): Ego is necessary for us to interpret our worldly experience, but it is not effective in making decisions because it is selfish.

* The last element of consciousness -understanding, is what we all need to work on to see the totality of being.

Use either two dashes or two commas:

The last element of consciousness-understanding-is what we all need to work on to see the totality of being.

or

The last element of consciousness, understanding, is what we all need to work on to see the totality of being.

Perfect closing note and it ties in well to the opening and body of the essay:
We are always looking in a mirror. Our universe is what we think. We are not mere animals. We are creators.

Hoping you will edit at lease the obvious spag, six stars in advance.

Superb depth!

Enjoyed.

Warmly, rd

A very well-written intellectual piece that provoke human thoughts to think who and what they really are. Humans are also social pack animals, they live in small families, go to community gatherings where they feel they belong with others in the group.

Hi, there. Well, this is quite an exposition. It's an interesting read, and you state many things I agree with, wholly or partially. Yet your essay is a little too 'Sanjay Gupta' for me, in that I'm not sure your conclusions follow your previous statements. But I love the fact that you think on these things and were willing to share your ideas with others. Thank you! Margaret

I have studied these ideas and generally agree with the premise of your essay. That being said, in terms of the writing, I felt like I was reading a PSCY 101 paper without the sourcing. As a teaching piece, it was a little preachy. I found the sentences about the ego to be disconcerting - only because they seem to contradict each other: "Ego is an artificial construct..." " Ego is necessary..." When you get out of the professorial voice, the piece becomes more inviting.

My favorite sentence: " Everything we experience is based upon broadcasting thought and receiving the echo of those thoughts." I just had a conversation today with a friend about the semantics of prayer vs intentional thought. I like the way you phrased it!

This is what Metaphysics is all about. I just watched The Celestine Prophecy again (I've read the book too. I need to be reminded of how to connect to the universal consciousness. Your essays echoes so many concepts I've learned i.e.
we borrow atoms from Mother Earth to create our form

"If you want to understand the universe, think in terms of frequency, energy, and vibration."

If everyone knew the truth, there would be no need for government. Whether you know it or not, you are perfect.

We can all create the future we desire.

(I love this truth and practice it daily)

Nice use of concrete objects like the radio and computer to get this abstract concept across.

Good essay. It kind of reads like a scholarly paper which may be over some people's head including mine. I disagree with your theory (and that is what it is because like the theory of a creator -- there is no scientific proof. Very good theory, though. Maybe you should try to publish this in an educational journal.

Many will remain in this state without questioning why they feel what they feel (you used 'feel' twice, maybe you did this on purpose. Just pointing it out.). Time, space (comma between sequences in a sentence) and understanding. One more comment--it read like a scientific paper except when you write 'hello!' Then it became more like a one-sided essay.

Good luck in the contest.
