That's actually Thumper's mom's advice which he then repeats. This is a nice poem in defense of the big guy. If this were just a business, and lives and the planet didn't matter (as is typical of corporate decisionmaking), Trump would be the man.

Bill, I think it's obvious he cares about lives and the planet as well all the rest. He is not a politician whose main concern is staying in office and getting all the benefits we don't. Because he approaches situations and people differently - practically, and doesn't put up with BS doesn't make him dangerous. I think the unadorned hatred from the left is what's dangerous. What happened to fair play in this country? civility? respect? President Trump has a lot of accomplishments behind him and has street smarts. Obama had nothing - no accomplishments, no back bone and an ego that makes Trump's look minuscule.
And I know Thumper didn't originate the phrase, but I loved the way he said it.
I welcome a friendly disagreement. I'm actually surprised you aren't for a man of principle.

I was trying to stay on your poem and not get it mixed up with a battle that can't be won.
Trump is a thirteen year old girl who has never known want or worked for anyone else. Any rhetoric from him, above a catty spew of insults in what is, at best, a fifth grade vocabulary, was written by someone else.
Any promise from Trump is tantamount to a used car salesman's guarantee.

You've done a great job here with this short rhyming essay. It must have been difficult to edit it down to so few lines with so many positive accomplishments to choose from.
Perhaps you should have placed a warning that you'd be using the 'D' word, but by doing so, you bravely spelled out who the opposition is.

So far, with the exception of one who would only comment on style,etc., the responses have been positive.
Warning of the "D" word probably wouldn't have lessened the negative reactions to the poem, but you may be right.
