This essay, Understanding Jesus, is a valuable nonfiction piece that explains a lot about the modern understanding of Christ and how other denominations see him as either the son of God or just a cool guy.

Thank you and I hope I presented Him as both God and perfect man as I believe the scriptures do. God bless you, Dennis

This is one of the most complete and encompassing messages about the Godhead I've ever read. You have a clear and concise writing style that is neither boring nor loquacious. I enjoyed the whole thing.

One clarification, Mormons do believe in Christ as the Savior and Redeemer, and acknowledge His deity. The Book of Mormon is not a book designed to worship Joseph Smith. He is only considered a modern prophet, as the prophets of old. I am not Mormon, but have friends who are, and we discussed this same topic.

That being said, I completely agree with the other things you said, and love the way you presented them.

Take care,
Rhonda

Thank you for reading and commenting but I must take issue with your statement ,"One clarification, Mormons do believe in Christ as the Savior and Redeemer, and acknowledge His deity".
There may be born-again true Christians in Mormonism but their official position is not Biblical and is in denial of what you stated. There has been a marked increase in the Mormon cult to don more and more Christian appearance while the inner core (which you are not in) holds to its Joseph Smith original errors. Both the OT and NT forbid the adding of new revelation to the word of God and by that fact alone, Joseph Smith was a false prophet. And his teachings are truly antichrist as well. It should be a red flag to anyone that the Christian church has existed for some hundreds of years before the three major cults showed up, all claiming they had rediscovered the "lost" truth! If you are a believer, I suggest you get out. You are being manipulated. You are not privy to the so called "apostolic" leadership so things are going on in secret you know nothing about. Remember please Jesus said, " In secret I have done nothing." God bless you, Dennis

Thank you so much for sharing this well told testimony to God's eternal love for man. Too many people miss that Jesus redeemed Adam and Eve, too. I think your work defines this distinction in a well told manner.

Are you a preacher? Your explication of scripture is well done, if a little bogged down.

I think you might reach more people if you wrote more in the style that you speak, in a friendlier tone and with an obvious outreach. What you have written is accurate, but not terribly inviting. Jesus is inviting. Why not spruce this up with a little of that love and acceptance?

Nice job overall.

Your comment is a little bogged down....are you a preacher? :) Reaching people is secondary to being accurate with the scriptures. You mention Jesus being inviting...true, but on His own terms. He also threatened those who did not accept His invitation to trust Him for eternal life and receive it as a gift. Remember?
"Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.?
John 8:24 (NKJV) So my aim is to present the scriptural Jesus. There are enough "preachers" presenting only a positive Jesus.
Nevertheless, thank you for reading nd commenting. God bless you, Dennis

Wow. I never saw Jesus as "threatening." My Jesus is loving and merciful. If God really is a hateful God, no one would WANT to go to Heaven. I'm surprised you care to go. If fear is driving you, as I suspect, you haven't yet experienced the fullness of the Lord. I hope you find that love before you die... and that you haven't scared too many people away from God.

A true perception of Jesus Christ comes from the revelation of scripture. Your correct view of Him personifying love finds its source in Scripture. Yet you are unbalanced in your view when you choose to limit the full revelation and take only one side. Therefore, in an ironic sense, He truly is "your Jesus" one which limits Him to your limitation of the full disclosure given of Him in The Word of God. I can assure you, the scripture warns against this very thing.

The Bible states "The fear of the Lord is CLEAN and endures forever." Awe and respect for the Lord is the correct meaning of the word fear as used in this verse. So such fear would keep us from limiting the revelation and so building our very own Jesus.

None believers are still in eternal jeopardy until they believe, but we who believe and trust in the atonement Christ provided, are eternally secure, born into the forever family of God and written in the Lamb's book of life. -Non[e] believers

A wonderful and inspiring article, Dennis. Great analogy with the serpent injecting his venom and sin into humanity.

Thus He is truly, "the only begotten" of the Father, and so born without a sinful nature. Modern translators have done us no favor by their term "the One and only Son of God" since God has many spiritually begotten (born-again) sons, but only one such "begotten One". In their desire to show His uniqueness, they have only blurred the lines of distinction! Adam was created, Eve was created out of Adam, while all other humans were born in the usual way. Christ alone was "begotten" into humanity by the Spirit.' What a beautiful spiritual write I hope you do very well with this it is infused with the love of our lord, kindest regards and god bless Meia x

You're absolutely right about the deity Bro Dennis. He always pre existed, and was always God, Like the conversation God had with Himself at the beginning of creation, "Let "us" go down and make man,(men and women) in our image" John 1:1, "in the beginning was the word...and the word was God, and became flesh" Jesus was the only man conceived by the Holy Ghost through a woman. I guess one could describe us as adoptive sons, with all the rights and privileges and inheritance, of a natural son, (the Jew if they believe) co heirs with Christ, friends and brothers, what an immeasurable honour, well done Dennis, great work, blessings, Roy

How different with our Lord Jesus! He is named by the Father as His Firstborn, and is the only human ever to be conceived in a virgin's womb by the operation of the Holy Spirt. ~ this is an impossibility of course, but that's why religion is a question of Faith, of believing unconditionally.

I wonder, what did humans do for their faith before Jesus came along?

Luke 24:25 Then He said to them, ?O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?? 27 And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

One the first mentions of Christ comes in God addressing Satan in the Garden, Genesis 3, prophesying the victory of Christ on the cross and the complete destruction of Satan. The Seed of the woman, is Christ, since women do not have seed. This speaks of the virgin birth as well. :

    15
    And I will put enmity
    Between you and the woman,
    And between your seed and her Seed;
    He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.? God bless, thanks for reading, Dennis

You my friend explain this all very well.... From the creation of Adam and Eve... To the holy birth of Jesus... to His death and the cross, and His resurrection.... We are all but sinners saved by grace.... Don'r deserve a thing.... I love how your last line prompts an invitation to this very same God...
He is still doing this for any who want to learn of Him. Don't settle for less!..
Love it.....

So inspirational words! This comprehensively tells about Jesus named by the Father as His First Born, the Only Begotten of the Father, the One and Only Son of God, is the God appointed as the First Born of creation and the First Born of the Dead, Head of the Church of the Living God, and directs us to live per God's words.
