Oh...the tension mounts.
This piece is well-written and the story is very engaging. I read a chapter a week or so ago...?? But I need to make certain I fan you so I can keep up. It's early in the story, so it won't be a chore, and I really want to see where you take this.
What was the conversation? Are you going to tell?
Keep it up.

Great Chapter. I hear Cody's personality bounding off the page as I read. I hope the Montoya woman is not a problem. I guess we will find out soon enough. Good work and no spags.

Wow here we go again but I like the way you are allowing Cody to grow up and be able to speak his mind. He is not afraid since all that happened to him and has total trust in his dad

This is very suspenseful. Gadsden sounds like a real threat, and he takes advantage of the fact that Beth is no longer around and Daniels can no longer protect both her and Cody. Cody isn't a kid who can be intimidated, but Daniels warns him to be careful. Cody's sticking his nose in a little bit when he says Beth's reason for leaving was that Daniels hadn't married her. Maybe she'll show up. Meantime, is Miss Montoya going to provide some conflict in the story? Excellet work. judi

So Gadsden has made a threat that he may harm Cody, in fact he raises the fact that harming will include his girlfriend Beth, so Sherriff Daniels real concern is for his son Cody, but Cody has told his dad, that he can't have a dad like him and not have trouble. Excellent episode, no spags found, well done, Brett, well done, blessings, Roy

You captured my attention as always
I didn't think that would be the end of him.
I like how you slowly lead into the exciting part.
Thank you for sharing.

What a life Sheriff Daniels had! Full of actions and interactions, receiving threats, solving minor and major problems of others, in addition to own, again threatening phone calls; I liked the psychological and sentimental descriptions, good dialogues, catchy beginning and curious ending.

The piece flows smoothly and the dialogue certainly set the situations before the reader. The characters were easy to visualize using their conversation. It looks to be a good mystery developing.

The threat hangs in the air, and the Sheriff is faced with quite the dilemma. You have done a good job of building the suspense, and showing how brave Cody can be. I look forward to reading more of this story,

Great stuff!
We're introduced to a new villain and the threats seem real.
I like the dialogue between Cody and his dad. Ole Cody didn't mince words about Beth leaving.
Looking forward to the next chapter.
