An interesting poem. Initially I read it because I was intrigued by the Robert Frost element. My son loves apples . A well written poem and the artwork adds to the appeal

HOw very interesting - a succinct prose passage exuding sheer delight in the promulgation of captivating facts re the humble Apple - and with a literary connection to the great R.Frost - such an enjoyable read- going to Google Frost + Apple + Vermont !

The apple identification piece, I Am Robert Frost: Snow Apple, seems to fit me as well. I have always considered the Snow Apple THE apple, and all others pretend apples.

Interesting information in your author notes about Robert Frost and his apples. I especially liked this in your contest entry: 'My appeal seems to be the deep mysterious lines, often seen as stains upon my pure snow-white flesh'. You created a picture with that line. Well done!

Hi Heidi Thanks for reading my Snow Apple entry and forcsharing your favourite line .This was about Robert Frost who was an interesting poet and some really loved him Other not so much because of his interesting and often mysterious writing so I tried to make him the apple ( not me ) I appreciate your comments and Glad you had a read. Cheers Christine😃🍎

Hi Chrissy, This is a good personification of an apple I have never heard of, but you describe it very well. Good wording has made this a very nice read and makes the reader want to sample Snow Apples. Maybe in England we have another name for them. Your author notes are really interesting. My favourite lines of yours are -

My appeal seems to be the deep mysterious lines, often seen as stains upon my pure snow-white flesh. Standing the test of time, branches now old and gnarled, I have outlived my creator. With each passing winter, I still yearn for and enjoy a good Frost.............. nice little name drop here with the name Frost.....

I'm giving a 6 because I found your piece was rather moving. Warm rgards Dorothy xx

Hi Dorothy,Thanks so much for your great review and considering this a six star poem Thant has made my day. I actually tried to personify Rober Frost as the Snow Apple and capture some of his traits so it is not about me but rather about him LOL The contest said you or someone you know . When thinking about the type of apple I started researching the Snow Apple re my authors notes childhood memory of eating these and then found the story of Robert Frost planting a Snow Apple so he became my Apple as well hence the reference to him And he was one of a kind and mysterious and tantalising and sometimes sharp and his Snow Apple tree is also still standing although he has died ( I have outloved my creator) i did have fun trying to make him the Apple though and hoped it read well. As always I appreciate your support and hope you have a great day. Cheers Christine😃🍎

Thanks for the writing, Christine.

I think this is Me the Apple:
a little sharp, and, consequently I have also been rejected. Being hardy, resilient, and versatile
pounding my fingers on the ever patient keyboard...

Hi apky. Me too LOL I did have fun with this poem and it is actually about Robert Frost as the Apple as he was a very interesting poet and was sometimes rejected as well and often wrote tantalising juicy pieces etc so my personification was him LOL ( and yes at time I feel the same but I am also hardy and resilient and try new ideas all the time some work some don't but thats the challenge of writing so Many Thanks for reading my poem Keep on the keyboard Cheers Christine😃🍎

Hi there,

this is a very well written little piece which makes good use of the competition theme. Self-aware in the likeness? Hm...

All the best

Hi GMG. Thanks for your review and self awareness is the key but in this case This was about Robert Frost himself and not about me I was trying to capture his traits in the Snow Apple because when researching about this type of apple I found the story about him planting his Snow Apple tree in Vermont 90 years ago ( see authors notes) and I though I would try and make this about him as he is bright and read by many ( bright and red by many my play one words Hmm) I wondered if this would work though ? I really appreciate yourctime and comments Many Cheers Christine😃🍎

This is a wonderful contest entry. I think you wrote an excellent piece about what kind of an apple you are. I never realized there were so many types of apples in the world. I have relatives in Vermont. Used to visit them when I was a kid. I wouldn't know them now if I looked them in the eye. Thank you for a wonderful story and good luck in the contest.

Hi Lu, Thanks for the review but the apple is about Robert Frost I was trying to compare him to the apple the contest said you or someone else) so I was trying to think outside the square and capture some of Frosts traits hence the different descriptors LOL but I thank you for your lovely review and may the best apple win Ha Ha. Cheers Christine
