A great play on words as the lantern brings light, but your lantern is turned off and darkness has engulfed it! I loved your poem and wish you luck with the competition, love Dolly x

Cool choice of subject for a poetry form called lanturne (light). A good juxtaposition if you will.
The form is well executed, it tells a story, and plea for help, rather than just a mish-mash of words, which I've encountered with some of these shorter forms. Well done.

Your Lanturne shines a light on the terrible darkness of depression, an affliction that besieges many. The cry for help in your last line is poignant. I wish you well in the contest.

Comment from His Grayness
My first exposure to this unusual poetic style, but I did back up and review the guidelines, to which I found this work to be highly compliant and very well done indeed. I cannot offer any suggestion to improve it as I believe the coloration and packaging is outstanding and overall, well presented. HIS GRAYNESS

Thank you for taking the time to read and review this poem. It is a different style, I believe, I hope I had put in author notes of the syllable count for a lanturne.

Powerful presentation, the whole of the poem screams HELP, but the good news is the fact that you are no sitting in your darkness in comfort, it appears you can and have seen THE LIGHT

Thank you so much for your wonderful review, It's funny how when I did write this; it was just a poem; It was not based on my own reality. Since this write and responses I get, some one I spoke to says "it must come from somewhere in you" I suppose it was buried inside all along, as I do suffer from severe anxiety. I just don't know Ronnie. Best wishes to you.

Much luck in the contest with your interesting Lanturne. This reminds me of depression, which luckily I do not have. But according to friends who have tried to describe it to me, it sounds like this. Marilyn

Very well done!
Kind regards.

So much said in so few words. There seems to be a redundancy in the first two lines but then the third line changes everything from a physical darkness to an internal one. Great one-word ending!
