good story and memory. How neat that you could read before starting school. I know this piece was about your memory, but I wish you'd added a bit more about growing up in a family with eleven siblings. I cannot imagine it. Your mother must have had the patience of Job.
Having an Auntie who spoiled you must have been fun, too. This was a good read.

Thank you. I have written other stories about my family, you can find them in my profile. I just wrote this short piece for the remember contest where they asked for one specific memory. I intend to write more stories about my growing up day, they were wonderful.

What a beautiful memory! It is the simple pleasures that remain with us for our lifetimes. My favorite memories are of the time I spent with my grandmother, and I'm trying to give my grandchildren memories of their time spent with Grammy.

I've read at least four of these entries and this one is the best so far. Simple memories like these are the best stories to tell. They're full of life in a simpler day and time. There's a truth in all of these stories that I love!

What a special and beautiful memory. In reading it, it brought a smile to my face. I am partial to cats. My big sister was a little tabby cat named Mitzi. I have four of my own right now, all rescues of one kind or another. Heartwarming... good luck in the contest...
