I once had a child who was scared of falling asleep
for fear that she would not wake up. I asked her,
one night while sitting with her, what helps her to fall
asleep. She said, "I look out my window and see all the stars
and I name them after all of the people who have helped me
through my illness. But, I always run out of stars!"
This is the spirit of your poem.
BTW, I chose this poem in your portfolio because it needed
one more review to be sent a Blue Ribbon. No longer. -Bill

Thank you so much for your five star review and your support of this poem and my work. I am very grateful and very glad that you enjoyed this piece and some of my other poems. It was a fun poem to write and I like the way it opens up like a flower in the light and then flies off to the endless days of the arctic circle, with all their light and promise estory

Your free verse is a pleasure to read. There is wonderful imagery and lovely words. I particularly liked your clever use of 'illume, illumine, illuminate'. It reminds me of latin conjugating and is so effective. Congratulations. Susan

Hi friend, this a simple write as you said yourself, but still it is a most beautiful write, and the imageries ...like flying to the north pole , dance of lightand the great sunflower open, what magnificent portrayal of joy and simplicity.

A very well-written poem. There is much more fun in the light than in the dark and shadowed corners of life. I always seeking the light to uplift my spirit when I find myself in a dark shadowy place.

Hope springs eternal in this uplifting, spiritually motivational write, estory.
The imagery is stunning, the wording--quite simple yet elegant at the same time.
If that makes any sense at all.
Well done...

That was a lovely free verse. Seeds of the stars roots in the sky,
was my favorite part. You should add a pretty Sunflower picture
to that, to enhance its beauty.

Estory, this is a lovely poem. One could almost feel like they are losing themselves
to heaven. A beautiful free verse poem that allows the reader to take flight with
these uplifting words. Thank you for sharing ~DD

This is a nice piece you have written. I especially like the way you used illume, illumine and illuminate, it sounds cool! This is creative and you say simple, but to me it has depth. I like it!

thanks for the five star review and your encouraging comments. I like the minimalist forms, and that repetition, that evolution of illume is central to achieveing the effect of opening up, like a flower, to the light. glad you enjoyed that image. I thought it a simple poem, and just wanted to post something positive with all this negativity going on right now in the country, spread a little light, a little hope. estory
