I loved the lyrics and the cadence to your song. Always choosing the high road is so difficult when you are young and trying to find your way through life. However if you can't when you are young, then is it too late?

Taking the high road can suck. Sometimes we just don't want to listen to our parents until it's too late. You did a great job and a great reminder and taking the high road, something we all can tend to forget.

Nice song lyrics with the variations in each stanza. I am guessing you write other things about the South. This song gives a person a homey sort of feeling. It reminds me a bit of the lyrics of Townes van Zandt.
