This is a story that grabbed and kept my attention throughout. What a unique approach to the contest :-)

The only thing that disappointed me a little was that your writing is telling rather than showing. Nevertheless, I enjoyed reading this. Good luck with the competition.

This is a different approach-- writing from the view point of a daffodil. They are beautiful and they do appear to dance in the sunshine.

Thanks for sharing your fun and entertaining 100 word poem. I don't know how someone can take the planting of a flower and make it so cute and the reader feel toward the flower as they would a lovable child, but you did. Great job, and best of luck in the contest. :-)

This meets the contest requirements beautifully. I thoroughly enjoyed the approach you took as it reminded me a little of the ugly duckling tale. I wish you all the best in the voting and thank you very much for sharing it.

This is a very unique take on the 100-word story contest. I thought the little girl was going to cut the flower, that would have been funny. Good job!

This is a most unusual flash fiction. No clever punchline or dramatic revelation, just a story of growth
and beauty. In the emergence of the flower through
the eyes of the plant, we feel that small moment
of joy experienced when the child says, 'Mum! Come!
There's a daffodil in the garden.' It is the
botanical equivalent of "The Ugly Duckling' and a
thousand other tales of beauty revealed behind the plainness around. A kind, gentle tale that should
inspire. Very nicely compiled and conceived. Best
of luck with voters.

Beautiful story. I think this was a very well written contest entry. It was imaginative , very well thought through and creative. You managed to tell the story in the amount of words you were given.

Oh, what a sweet story. You have it all here, too, in only a hundred words - well done indeed, and very creative, to personify a daffodil bulb. I'm smiling, and probably will all night!

What a perfect response to this 100 word dash contest. The theme is an excellent one, the planting of an unprepossesing bulb which grows into a beautiful flower that adorns a garden, is like the ugly duckling growing into a beautiful swan. You've done so much in so few words, well done, good luck in the comp. blessings, Roy
