You are the master of the short-short story! This story is so very human--so very true in capturing the bitterness of one left at a 'home'. Also, it just just how important little things, like one's pet, can make the biggest difference.

The dialogue tags are well done and the story is well developed. It kept my interest and pulled at my heart strings.

The tenderness of this story touched me to my soul. Everyone should have their best friend with them when it is time to leave this world, whatever species that best friend might be. I love flash fiction and this story is very complete in such a small number of words. This dying man and compassionate nurse who knows what will comfort him rings true and so poignant. Nurses are such good people, aren't they? Unless it's a horror movie, of course. Here Rosie is the angel who recognizes Harold's needs. Her priorities are compassion before protocol, and so she brings Henry's much loved dog, Frankie to visit. A clearly ecstatic, Henry, awaits his final breath with his best mate. Beautifypul story, sentimental in all the right ways. You used those 100 words to perfection. Karyn.
