Excellent

This is a good poem about needed and praised percipitation during a droubt.
You must live in a warm state because a cloudy sky in winter would bring snow or a blizzard, not a downpour of quenching rain.

Yes I live in Southern California.. When I wrote this one we were hopeful El Nino would bring us lots of rain, but it
fizzled out. Now we really need rain. It's hot and dry.

Good to hear you are finally getting some rain. Your picture looks like any day here in the UK. Rain is something we take for granted at times but oh how life needs it, shame we can't divert it to needy countries. Well written etheree and best wishes for the contest.

Yes! I love the build up to the final, much-needed quenching. I'll bet folks in CA were dancing in the rain when it finally started. We had a drought one hot summer. Lost shrubs and half of a tree.

Wow, the picture says it all. Lovely etheree poem, Nancyjam. It is good all the way through. Here in Michigan we have had some extraordinary weather for January. Not much cold weather until just recently and not a lot of snow either. We may get it before the winter is over though. We had an inordinate amount of rain for December and January, too. Nicely done. Rain. Oh how blessed those living in the parched places of the US must feel. Yet even in that joy, there has been much flooding and sorrow. It's good to see that many of the reservoirs are full again. Perhaps, it will keep on raining until the soil itself starts to plump with the wonders of moisture.
This is great Etheree, Nancy. It flows well, which is hard for a syllable counting poem.
