Excellent work. Anything, even a rock, is destined to fall at some point. Happened to the Old Man of the Mountains in New Hampshire. A creature of pure evil, he thinks that he is invincible, but isn't so. That is how the terrorist guys think--they will prevail, even if the get killed in the process. Unfortunately, there are some who try to make heroes of these cold-blooded killers. I like the flow in this, and it tells quite a story. Happy trails. judi

Unfortunately, there are some who try to make heroes of these cold-blooded killers. I like the flow in this, and it tells quite a story. Happy trails. judi

This is a very good poem you have penned. You used very good descriptive wording. Ricky the Rock was a really bad influence.
Ricky's crimes became legendary
His reign of terror quite contrary
Stripes, and bars, and a cold steel cell
Ricky the Rock had a story to tell
One day they brought a mean sledgehammer
Ricky's brave speech became a stammer
With one fell blow he turned into dust
A lesson to be learned by all of us
Ricky the Rock sat high on a hill
Pondering evil and no goodwill

Very interesting poem which carries a rather subtle warning.
Without guidance life spirals out of control. I felt sorry for him being crushed to dust though. Could he not just have been caged

A great use of personification. While I was reading, I keep thinking about the foreign domestic terrorists among us. They fail by the bullet or handcuffs.
Evil does fall and hard. The funny thing is they never see coming or believe it will happen to them. This is something to think about.

Ricky the Rock was certainly destined to fail. There is a great story here. For me, this is what happens when we try life without God. We fail. We become dust. I'm sure there will be many great interpretations of this poem though.

So even the toughest, meanest, well armed hardheaded rock can be turned to dust with one blow from the feared sledge hammer. I hope the world can do the same to ISIS.
