Thanks so much for the pleasure of reading your special little story. One that should make everyone of us stop and think of something we might not have noticed that could make a difference in another person's life. Great job, and good luck.

(Just wanted to bring this to your attention. Didn't want it to hurt your chances in the contest.)
"Okay, that would be great, just (let) me know when you are done," closing the door quickly, before he could see her tears.

A wonderful story of change and growth. This will be an
excellent story for the contest. I would suggest that
you consider "Christmas's" and perhaps change it to
"Christmas'."

Great. BTW, at the bottom of your screen you will see the advertisement of my book, A Gift To Self. It's on Amazon.

I have re-written a poem called "A Gift To Self" and I have reactivated it for review. Thanks. Bill.

A great Christmas story a woman and a boy both lonely with their own pain and losses find each other and both discover the gift of giving. Good luck with the contest

You absolutely deserve a six star for this beautiful heart felt story. This was told so vividly I would think that you actually personally experienced it. It made me cry, but also made me feel hope and warmth. it's a story about letting go of your grief from the past and moving forward. I see the 2 candles as symbolizing the lady and Tommy and their new found friendship also. They need each other. :)

Thank you for the insightful review and 6 stars. I do believe that grief can be let go instantly, by a simple act. So easy to hold on to the past, but it blocks positive opportunities. I'm glad that you enjoyed this, I am always thinking about show, don't tell when writing stories like this. Thanks CobiDawn and welcome to fanstory, cheers judester

Thanks Jax for your encouraging review, I always worry about show don't tell when I venture out and write a story instead of a poem. I appreciate your thoughts on this. Cheers
