As always, your account of Alaskan life in the early years is totally captivating and intriguing. I am very much enjoying these scripts based on the Spirit Basket stories. It is so easy to visualize this as a movie or screen presentation of some sort. I keep hoping you will submit this to someone in Hollywood who would be interested in producing it.

A couple of tiny nits to correct (unless I'm mistaken) follow:

***DIRT STREETS CROWED (crowded?) WITH SOLDIERS AND THE PUBLIC - AFTERNOON
***Russians (Russian) soldiers hold out the rope to use for descending the flag.

A most enjoyable read, Miss Alaska. I love it.

The Indians pondered over the Americans desire for land. They viewed the land as belonging to everyone. The differences of the two cultures will bring ill winds to the Indians.
Error
Father, is that massive log the cedar tree you told (??) about?

I learned form past history here in this post. Although I am not really that kind of person that will harbor ill feelings form the past mistakes of my ancestors. I believe in moving on and will not punish the new generation with the mistakes of the past. You have only one land, America and division is not the answer. God bless. By the way, I am an Asian but I learned to love your country.

Hi, Marie. How arre you, my friend? "The Spirit Basket" must be an informative history and I would no doubt enjoyn reading it sometime.

You have strong descriptive passages thjroughout this chapter for instance:
"Over 200 American soldiers trail two Generals and come to a stop before the flagpole. Russians soldiers hold out the rope to use for descending the flag. A sudden BOOM fractures the air. Cannon fire from Ossipee, an American ship in the harbor. Russian cannon fire on shore answers. The flag begins to edge down.

And:
"A couple hundred sailed out of here for Russia on the high tide. Too bad because the American congress granted them land if they stayed."

Bravo! My friend. Good account and writing. Bob

Thanks a million for reviewing, Bob. It is encouraging to know when someone takes the time to read this, especially when I know scripts lack so much in perceiving the setting. Marie

This is another excellent chapter. You certainly have done tremendous research for this. I enjoyed reading this very much. I found one small spag:

At the end of the school day a few student file out the classroom ... you need an 's' at the end of the word 'student' ...

I find scripts difficult to read but I do like this story. The characters are strong and the dialogue is appropriate. You did a great job. Shirley

I agree that scripts are not so easy to read, especially in the format that FS offers. Thanks for reviewing, Shirley.

I do remember reading some of your story before, I remember enjoying it. I like the historical information and the characters of the Native Americans described in the story. Well presented script-maybe you should post it in the script category. Couple of things, between Para 6 and 7, Crowded. Para 11, They stand to attention (expression meaning militarily alert)Most enjoyable. faye
