Yes, my plans are still to publish a book of my own dark poetry. I'm going to have rama devi do the editing.

Hello, Dean,

This one reads like a warning to those who cage their thoughts, consigning themselves to an eternity of restlessness. (Hmmm, I better start writing faster!:)

You use great word choices to present a dark image and the picture compliments the piece nicely....creepy, to say the least!

I also appreciate the solid enjambments and rhymes you use in the telling of this tale...words to the wise, my friend.

Such beautifully crafted poetry, wrapped with gnarled hands, that rhyme regardless of the grime, and wait for a waking reveal to show the danger to be real. Those pages then, that quill lets out, to lurk about. Well done.

Dean, I wonder what will happen to the many pieces of poetry that I have posted on this site. Far reaching in depths of darkness only to swing around to happy moments. Spiritual poetry allowing people to look at and into my persona. The love of my Savior is define in those words. My kids and friends have no interest in these poems.

This is a great opening poem for Shifting Shadows Dean. Love the title and I love the opening line - Thoughts should not be kept in cages - I'll have to get my dark thoughts going, I like this concept and enjoyed this read.

Well, the poem is truly dark. Arcane chants create the desired effect. The horrifying thoughts can emerge from any direction so, sharks are near. Effective presentation.

Hahaha, well, if you can write in the afterlife, then my answer would be "yes", he will write more, Judvan. I'm not sure that's possible, however, as he is dead. The "Tufted Bed" I'm referring to is his plushly lined coffin.

As far as adding to the book, if you go to my portfolio and find the book, you'll see at the bottom of the prologue a number of tabs. One of those tabs is labeled "Add Chapter" When you have a poem you feel you'd like to enter in the book, simply click that tab and post your poem as you normally would. It will then appear as a chapter in the book, Shifting Shadows: A Collection of Dark Poetry.
