Hi Mikey

Well done. Congratulations on your second placing. Beautiful presentation and a lovely love poem, "I had it all". A great tribute to love that's 'gone right'. You write like you've known these forms for eons. I still remember newbie Mikey. What progress you've made dear friend. I love how much you've taught me, and how much you inform me in your writing. This is simply elegant. Warmest regards - Lovi xoxoxo

I missed this one Mikey - love it. a real 'better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all' poem - only you have worded it beautifully. Perfectly executed and a lovely display - warm regards Dorothyx

Congratulations Michael! This is an outstanding Minute poem and well deserving of that handsome red ribbon. I wonder how I missed this when you first posted it, but I'm so glad I get to read it now. I very much enjoyed the cheerful attitude of this, singing, dancing and refusing to cry but enjoying the happy memories. Excellent poem!

Yes, when once we had it all. I'd settle for good health to return, forget love! This is excellent Michael, I like how it flows along, easy to read and enjoy. I've never heard of this form before tho. But you have a wonderful entry here. BEST of luck in the contest! Hugs, Suse

It is your first line that moves me. It's not about wishes or dreams but something you had a grasp of in your hand but it went away. They always say " 'tis better to have loved than not loved at all." I'm not too fond of that saying, myself. I find it right up with that 'sage' piece of advice, "get over it."

I enjoyed each verse of this minute poem.
"better to have loved and lost..." etc
The speaker is remembering a special love
missing her but realizing he was lucky to have
experienced something wonderful.
Good luck in the contest. Nancy

Love the structure and form to this. I like its plain and clear message...no unraveling or riddle solving. During the heartbreak, i might not have agreed with this belief but looking back I must admit that the memory is worth the pain.

Michaelcahill, I am not familiar enough with minute poems to critique its form, but I love poetry enough to kmow when one is written well. Best wishes in the contest.
