this is an excellent write, brett, you did an excellent job writing this poem about the marriage broken up because of infidelity. I enjoyed reading it, though it's a sad subject.

An enjoyable, well written poem that paints a good picture.
Admittedly I'd maybe think differently if I'd ever been put in that position, but touch wood (he says, moving his hand to his head).
Particularly liked:
"The grass ain't always greener
On the wrong side of the hill"
and
"I gave you everything I could
Inside a golden band"
It's almost a shame that the 5th verse doesn't rhyme as it's the only one not to.

You have a ability to put rhyming words and phrases together,
painting a very vivid picture.
I guess I appreciate this poem because I was once a victim
of a girl I loved very much but for her it wasn't just a one stand, I was every nightstand that I wasn't with her. Dumb me I just about put a friend in the hospital because he was telling me about her nightly stands, and I didn't believe him.
Oh well God gave me a faithful loving girl I marrie 56 years ago, and the other one is some where between here and here.

I can hear the words from your poem...becoming, if not already ..a good country western song & think, maybe, it just might of already, have been sung... Too, your poem for me was a very good read...And deserving of a six, that right now, I just don't have...Hope to read more of your poetry, & think, too they make great melodies & like a good song, can make memories, or like this one, I think many can relate to if they had this, unfortunately, happen to them, be it spouse or one they thought would be there, this love forever for just them & finding, well, in a situation...a One Night Stand...or many more...Can undoubtfully, cause so much emotional pain for the one who didn't cheat.

Nice rhythm on this occasionally rhymed song/poem.
I could hear the guitar twanging a soulful she-done-me-wrong melody.
A refrain would round it out nicely. (imho)
