Hi! That was great! America bowed and said thank u... A little touch of the pros and con... and some need more attention I think in America... not your piece of which read twice and liked And perhaps this applause could be a duplicate as found my words of once of which I never posted....Cared to give you six stars as fell upon this piece twice and liked it as before... The six stars are gone why? Because it's an old timer...hm. But consider it as would have but the five stars are staring at me and shouting give,give, give... as alas five will have to do but then it was recognized and can see why ... Bravo

This poem is not a cheery one to me, but Memorial Day was not intended to be a cheery holiday, but rather a memorial to those who gave their lives for America. The words ring true for many of us, but at the present time, I feel survival of the country and its people may have become
as bits of chaff blowing in the wind. So much of our national "infrastructure" has
become moral decay. Nonetheless, it's a good poem but the phrases are lacking in consistent meter and much of the rhyming seems forced. Both could use a little polishing.

As long as we are saddled with centuries of tradition and eons of legends buried in the sand, poems like these will pop up like mushrooms. But what do they mean, these outmoded icons. They amount to being a gilded cage, to which we are all confined. For what are they valued. Are they worth dying for? We are only reminded of a dead past and an unknown, uncertain future, reminding us of our culture of violence. Are there not too many recorded wars? I hear them again! They are the shots that rang around the world. (Lovely poetry )-Ekim777

Your critical comments of this country are noted. However, it is guaranteed that should somebody need a welcome place to go, after their, in their own mind, far superior country is endangered, it is always the United States that you, and others like you, run to for safety and protection. Never fails to happen just that way. Just another fact of life that makes America the greatest country this world will ever see.

Good near rhymes in care / here and enemies / flee. I like that you mentioned farm land and the Statue of Liberty. You describe your country as a wonderful and relaxing home.
