"I am the Way, the Truth and the Light. No man comes unto the Father, except through me. " One should not look for the physical Being, but the spiritual Being. This is very well written.

Thank you...Christ came in a body to offer Himself as the sacrifice for our sins to make us right with God. Colossians 1:21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled 22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight? 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister. God bless, Dennis

Extremely well written. I will admit that I have never read the Bible from cover to cover but my faith is strong. But isn't that what "faith" is...The knowledge found in the heart and fastened in the mind as truth. Thank you for this work, wonderful devotional to start my day.
Always,

I appreciate your reading and commenting. Please do not be offended when I say faith in our hearts must be put in the Word of God. God's description of the human heart apart from Him and the Gospel is not good and His truth does not originate from there. Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Light. No man comes unto the Father, except through me. "

    God bless you, Dennis

"What's His Name?" God, Yahweh, and quite a number of other names like I AM. Scriptures are always a good source of material and inspiration. I liked this work. Well done.

Thank you...the point of the question "What is His name?" was to point out the need of Divine revelation as found in Scripture. You are quite right in pointing out a number of correct names for the Lord. God bless, Dennis

No need to be sorry, honestly...we have to help each other think clearly about what God has said. :)

Wow, this is some really good stuff, Dennis. It 's well researched and very well thought out. The best part is that it is informative without being overbearing and preachy. You have truly offered an olive branch to the non-believer while reinforcing the believer. Again, some wonderful writing.

Jesus, the Son of God, bled and died, forsaken by God and spurned by sinful men, to offer you free salvation. He took your place...He stood in the gap...between you and the Holy One who will never allow sin to dwell with Him. This is my favorite line. I take exception of 'forsaken by God', paradox. Christ suffered at the wrath of man, did not God say (paraphrasing)" this is my son in whom I am well pleased" Although almost all of what your say based on the Bible is true, a couple of phrases show God as being in error which is impossible. I think this piece is well thought out, studied and exemplerary except for the items mentioned.

Thank you for reading this and really thinking it through. You are of course correct in saying God was well pleased with Jesus. Yet I think perhaps you are overlooking the fact that He bore our sin for us while on the cross. 2 Corinthians 5:21: For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

So God poured His righteous wrath against our sin onto Christ. Part of this experience was being separated from the Father for a time. Remember? Matthew 27:46 "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, ?Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?? that is, ?My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?? (That cry is also recorded in the Messianic Psalm 22 which foretold this suffering of Christ on our behalf.) Also The bronze serpent in the wilderness is another foreshadowing example of Christ, the sinless one, becoming sin for us and vicariously suffering for our sin. Numbers 21:9: So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.

Obviously, after payment was made, Christ was no longer abandoned. Isaiah 53 speaks of His physical resurrection as proof His sacrifice was accepted by God on our behalf. 53:10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief.
When You make His soul an offering for sin,He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.

Hope this helps and God bless you, Dennis

I have a different take and we must agree to disagree. You quote chapter and verse well, that I admire. Relgion is not something that can or should be much discussed. I know Christ is all I need. I do not agree, what I already stated will stand.. Thanks for sharing the verses. I always listen to wisdom. In the end I stand alone before GOD. God BLess

Standing alone before God (if you mean without trusting Christ's sacrifice on your behalf) is not recommended. Dennis
reply by bizzygirl on 26-Apr-2015
Of course not silly, none come to God except through CHRIST. Sorry if you misunderstood.

I give you five for your fervor and to collect the points and dollars. For me, all the ills of this planet are caused by juvenile believers, regardless of what books they read. It is impossible to argue with religionists because their statements simply come from a deep-seated need to believe. I believe nothing. I either know or don't know. My best...John

Sorry to hear your conclusion, but appreciate your honesty. The bible is a living book, filled with the Spirit of the true and only God. Many have found this to be true simply by reading it. God bless you, Dennis

There is no question people can find comfort from their trials and tribulations by finding inspirational messages in "holy" books. There is no question that Jesus of Nazareth tried to give us the right path to live as humans. His name appears more than any other in the Koran. Those books were compiled for people to have some sort of guidance because they also knew there was more to life than simply being an animal. Those books have been obsoleted by facts.
reply by the author on 26-Apr-2015
The bible speaks of eternal things, both spiritual and actual. It cannot be obsolete.
reply by Cogitator on 26-Apr-2015
The bible does not speak. We only communicate with our inner self. What Jesus called the internal Kingdom of Goad...
reply by the author on 27-Apr-2015
I guess you need to believe that so you don't have to be responsible to God?
reply by Cogitator on 27-Apr-2015
I believe nothing. I either know or do not know. One thing is sure - God is not some anthropomorphic entity created by human superstition...
reply by the author on 27-Apr-2015
I couldn't agree more. Superstition is not how God reveals Himself. It finds its occasion in the rejection of truth.

Take my first review and apply it to this one. You do a lovely job 'quoting' the Bible, but still have not convinced me that it is the true words of God. No response necessary, please.

This work has reached the exceptional level

This is an awesome piece. I have been on this website since November, and this is the first time I have seen any of your writings. This is powerful and really touches the heart and mind. I have been so pleased with the great number of believers on this website, and they are a constant source of strength for me. I have struggled with some personal issues for some time and often find the comfort I need here. I have written several faith-based pieces for FanStory and would love to have you look at them and tell me what you think. I hope this is not an imposition. Writing has become therapeutic for me. Thank you so much for sharing. -- Diane

Thank you, Diane. Always glad to meet another Christian and especially those who are sharing Christ on here. So glad this piece was helpful to you and it will be my joy to look at your work. Let us pray for all the pieces Christians put on here as many need to hear, both saved and unsaved. God bless you, Dennis

It al begins with believing...the Bible says, "We love Him, because He first loved us." We must believe in Jesus...is that so hard? He invites us in and He is the only place of safety. Just as there was only one ark and one door into the ark so there is only one door; Jesus. One day, the door to Heaven will be closed just as God closed the door of the ark. Let us make sure we have true, saving faith in Jesus and just a faith in God's existence. God bless you, Dennis

at one time it was hard...but I was just mad...and through people like you...and others...I have grown to understand Him better...that it's ok to love Him...even with all my sins...He still loves me...smiling you...sleep tight...luff xxoo
