I love the story. Time as past well for the family. They are bonded, even the brother. The cat is satisfied with her life. She is treated like the Royal Princess. She is spoiled and doesn't share the limelight. I love it.

I think this is fabulously witty and charming, quite touching in many ways. It is very well written, and any cat would understand. Good luck in the contest!

My strength is story and character construction, not spag. I've only read one of your stories, but you seem to have the same quality. Technical aspects can be learned, literary seduction is an innate talent. Always play to your strengths.

Hi Ingrid,
what a magic read, for most part, I couldn't get the smile from my face... and let me tell you, if you saw me at the moment in the dark with a small torch tucked under my neck to see the keys on my lappy... yes we're in complete blackout darkness ...there are a couple of cyclones, going down the east coast at present... yes you'd be smiling back... and I think I'm getting a crinked neck to-boot... ah, that's right I'm doing a review... yes I remember Katherine... she sounds like she runs a tight ship... we all must have a tad of order in our lives, you know... and well I feel so much better now that I know someone of her calibre is looking after your interests.

Entertainment plus.. Just a little concerned about the white pellets though.

All the very best in the contest my totally creative mentor.

With our thoughts we create,
perspective,

I have to say, and you must surely know, I'd never lie to you, this was dictated and I am the menial typist. While Katy is 'somewhat' appreciative of the stars, she; would prefer smoked salmon or raw calves liver. Please don't take offence. She made me say that!

LMAO!!! I rescued a very damaged cat 3 years ago. She is flighty and bitchy and won't be held. She pees on everything and prefers to sleep ON me. She makes me crazy but I am in awe of her ability to survive. She 'talks' to me incessantly (and loudly). She was pretty beat up when I got her and now I finally respect that. We coexist with me having infinite patience whether she will or will not go out the door or will I open up the door when she's outside scratching to get in 15 seconds later. We are two of a kind and probably will get very old and gray together. She won't eat this and won't tolerate that. She doesn't even purr. But then again, neither do I. LOL

I've been through this...believe it or not, she's fighting for superiority rather than partnership. Trust me, continue as you are, and know that when she sleeps with you, she NEEDS to love you. It will be okay!

'Piss on you,' takes on a new meaning.

Brilliant! This is an amusing account of how a cat views its owner's changes over the years. I liked this part best:
Now and then she gets frightened by the person that lives in the mirror and turns her hair into another colour.
Lol!

I do think you've captured well the attitude of a cat toward its owner. After all we only exist to feed them and scoop poop, right? My kitties found this tale amusing and give you a paws up, a tail twitch, a whisker wiggle and a meow for your outstanding entry in this contest.

I read this one the other day but was too tired to comment at the time. Though somewhat longer than your usual fare I found this story well paced and interesting all the way through. You did sadden me at the end when your cat acknowledges that her nine lives a running out and wonders the same about you. I certainly hope not where you are concerned. I like how you reveal your cat's personality and you cat gives us some more insight into who you are. Nice shared POV. I approve of the sarcastic tone too.

Nineteen years is a long time for a cat. I lost my 14 year old almost a year and a half ago. I still mourn her. She was something special. She chose me to be her person. She blew into my life on winds of a hurricane.

Very well done....

Thanks so much for the stars and sharing your pussy cats' lives. Did you name the puss 'hurricane?'

You thought this was longer than my usual? I've been trying to cut back as I've posted a few lately over 2000 words. This is only around 1300.

No, I was going to, but she was such a sweet gentle cat that I gave her the name Gypsy Rose. It's the name of a song I play on my clarinet and the music was out when she blew in. Gypsy kind of describe her life before me and Rose her sweet disposition. I called her Gypsy and she very much approve of it.

Cats are not are pets , we are their pets. I owned a cat for many years, so I'm speaking from experience. This is a light hearted piece on the mindset of our snotty, witty, smart attitude felines.

This is so delightfully good! I have a nineteen-year-old cat, too, and I swear he has the same personality as your Katy. :) I could relate to so much of this, especially being frightened by the person that lives in the mirror and the "black box". I suspect my cat thinks I'm in a hypnotic trance, too, when I'm on my laptop. :) This is so well written and was a true pleasure to read. I also enjoyed learning about The Cat Genie. That sounds awesome! Best of luck to you in the contest. :)

This is just precious! Love every single golden word of it. Well written, with mastery of grammar, punctuation, and most of all -- ATTITUDE! Yes, you have absolutely nailed the cat attitude (me being a cat owner of several years).

Love the ending! Hope to see more from you in the future.
