This shows the true meaning of love. Saving others with your abilities. This shows the power of music in uplifting the soul and strengthening the weak.

Perfect picture and clear no forced rhyme whether full or slant rhyme.

The change in format for Fanstory is awesome but at this point I am not sure how useful

Your poem is a timely reminder of what terrible things happened to innocents in WWII and the bravery of many in facing them. I think that this story has been made into a movie, but I don't remember the stars nor name of the movie. Great work Aussie.

think i viewed this poem last year

Thank you Alan. I don't like the new look and can't see why they changed it? Thanks so much for reading and the great rating.

A beautiful entry for the contest, Kay. Moving and well-written, touching us by its story of ultimate sacrifice. Music soothes at a deep, primordial level. Obviously even touching the beastly humans who ran the camps. Good luck in the contest. This should do very well.

Hugs, Bev

I believe, with some variations, this story was played out several times during the Holocaust at different locations, generally with incredible nobility. A well-done poem.

Yes, I saw a film about a famous violinist - the camp commandant happened to like the violin - lucky for the prisoner! Thanks for reading. Blessings, Kay.

Hi, Kay,

This is such lovely dedication for the man, his music, surviving during adversity.

So many innocent lives lost, so tragic.

Cheers & Blessings

His love of violin sounded each day
Until they broke his fingers
One... by... one - each day
Conducting instead - teaching singers.
Mu last novel I published was under the same name taken from the same scripture. Published in 04 Not sure it is still in print. You did excellent with this poem. Shalom

These stories, these small bits of humanity have come to light over time. Who can doubt music, art, poetry can span hatred. Not me. Good one.

Very well written. I remember something about a Jewish musician who played for the Nazis. I wonder if this is about the same man. This piece is beautiful and really praises this man highly. I enjoyed reading this sad piece.

Always with respect,
