An excellent haiku! The first two lines of this poem flow
and connect well. The last line says it all. The black and white color scheme adds clearness to this poem.

A worthy winner. Definitely a touch of frost in the air with this one. Made me feel cold just at the thought of it! Nothing for it but to don a sweater and take a brisk walk, crunching those leaves underfoot and breathing wisps of life into the air!

This is a beautiful poem. Very nicely written work. Perfectly arranged. Very good formatting. Smooth flowing. Understandable. Very enchanted flow of words.
There was no SPAG, no typos, no room for improvement.

This deserved really six stars for me other than being a contest winner. Wow, I really loved the satori, sweater weather was definitely a killer line, I just love it. The two first lines are magical concrete imagery grammatically interconnected. a perfect haiku indeed. Thanks for sharing poet.

Congratulations on your contest win :-)
excellent appeal to senses not limited to the visual with the sound of the crunching leaves and the feel of the crisp weather
as well as the visual of the lifeless flowers
good alliterative pairing of crumpled and covered as well as assonance of short U sounds
and consonance with oak
good internal/proximate rhyme in sweater weather

Yes, I know about this sweater weather. Just lit the heater. Worked all day getting ready for leaf raking. Thanks for sharing. Excellent contest piece.

Thank you, Ben, for your great review and kind review for my haiku. I'm pleased you enjoyed it, and I appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts. We've already raked twice--we have two large maples in the back. This week has been windy, so tons more are waiting to be raked.
Smiles,
Indy :-)

Congratulations on your win! I'm not a poet, so I usually don't understand these shorter poetic forms, but I sort of get this one. For the past week and a half I have gathered leaves daily. Mostly Maple leaves where I live, but the Oaks are not far behind. And it is certainly sweater weather here.

Thank you for this great review, Gerald, and for your kind congratulations. I'm very honored the voters liked it because there was some incredible entries. It's been windy here in Indiana so many of the trees lost their leaves and are now waiting for the rake. Thanks for reading and taking the time to share your comments.
Smiles,
Karyn :-)
