Men will be men, and they have that innate sense of needing to rescue the damsel in distress...even if she's perfectly capable. LOL Love this poem. If only they could all realize the power we REALLY hold over them. :p

This modern Rapunzel has real character,she does not want any man showing off using her .But she may still be woman enough to shriek or cry if she sees a monster .I liked the subtle dig at the show-off types. The children look perfect together. Can't help a wishful thought that they may grow up together and be together always!

'I Could be R......' is an extremely well-written and entertaining piece. The power of women should never be underestimated. It was a pleasure to read and review a work of this standard.

Gorgeous photo of these two cuties with eyes only for each other and a lovely Rapunzel tale in rhyme with a little lesson for the wise thrown in. A good read Brooke, very entertaining.

I love the poems of Sawyer and Chloe, she looks just like my granddaughter, Chloe, at that age. She has grown up to be totally gorgeous, so watch out! I love this poem, Brooke, it is so sweet, I can see Sawyer rushing to Chloe's rescue in his shining armour, LOL, wouldn't he look sweet! Another lovely poem. :) Sandra

    Thank you so much, Sandra - I just bet your Chloe is a stunner :-) Sawyer and Chloe rescue each other all the time. If at preschool one of them is feeling blue or has taken a spill, the other will offer consolation, words of encouragement and a hug. They soothe each other and get the other one to stop crying all the time. It is so adorable :-) Brooke

    That is no nice. Friendships like that generally last a lifetime. I know my Chloe has lots of 'best' friends from the age of two, she will be fourteen on the 25 of November. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. Isn't it lovely being a grandmother. :)

Hah! Excellent, Brooke. We do play right into the ole damsel in distress routines, do we not?

...great use of enjambment to keep a smooth flow of thought

...wonderfully rhymed, with a snappy upbeat tempo.

Just a fun poem to read all the way 'round. :}

This is delightful! You are so talented! The entire poem is creative from beginning to end, but I love the last two stanzas. I haven't been on fanstory for a while and can't believe how big (and cute) Sawyer has gotten!

Ah, what a wonderful thought. Men have a need to rescue and we let the do it so they can feel important. Excellent storyline. The picture suits the theme perfectly.

I remember when I was ten years old, there was this girl across the street that was a little older than me. I thought she was very pretty, but she could still beat me up. A beautiful poem reminding me of a time long ago.
