I would have to agree that this is a witty epitaph according to the prompt. One question though why this particular photo for the poem?

No reason for the photo, mauial, except that it's about an imaginary haiku poet with a sense of postmortem humor, is all. I just used the photo to lend a bit more authenticity to the poem, that's it. Nothing more, and nothing less.
A lot of good that did me...
Thanks for your comments and taking the time to review it for me.

A very amusing spoonerism, making its way onto a gravestone. (Old Muck Tee was probably dyslexic as well.)
Three cheers for our queer old Dean!

Dyslexia, h-m-m-m-m...
He might very well have been, Donald, LOL. His epitaph would certainly suggest as much.
Thanks for the stellar rating and review, my friend. :}

Thanks, Reach. My poor pastor asks me pretty much the same question every Sunday morning. I dread this particular Sunday especially! Have mercy, heh-heh. Oh, I'm glad you liked my video. I received a glowing review, filled with praise for a story I'd written. One could even say it was gushing, but I think I just did. Then, they went and hit me with a three star rating. "Huh?!" I says. "Did I miss something?". I didn't even bother responding. I was too mad at the time, so I posted that video instead, heh-heh...

Thanks, Lou, I'm glad that you thought so, at least. Not many voters did, that's for sure.
Appreciate it! :}

Very witty, very clever Dean, I enjoyed your sense of humour in this, ahem! Entry in this witty epitaph poetry contest, I just stumbled on this, I'm not sure how I feel, I think God is working on both of us, well done, blessings, Roy,

Oh Deano, you naughty but nice lad, this is a brilliant epitaph, for which, with your kind permission I may well have engraved on my own headstone, in hopefully 40 years time!

Sure, Eric, knock yourself out, my friend. Permission granted...
On my stone, the following engraving will appear...
Thank you for your patience
Construction completed
Sorry for the inconvenience...
...and I'm as serious as a heart attack about that, LOL!

That is brilliant Dean, great laugh my friend.

This one tickled my bunny phone. It should appeal to the lowest common denominator, which, as every good politician knows, is the best way of attracting votes. It has mine...

Oh, thanks a bunch, Tony, but I'm afraid you're too late to vote, as the contest has already ended. I lost by a mile, but I do appreciate the thought and the review.

Modern Man skin mag, JFK years, acrostic epitaph:
Friends, I am resting
Under this stone
Cool, unprotesting
Kingly, alone.
Younger than wisdom
Older than youth
Ugly as unadorned truth.

Hah! You shoulda entered that one, LIJ Red. I'm sure you would've done a lot better with yours than I did with mine.
Have a day, buddy! :}

Funny poem, mystery poet. Did you make this up? I'm guessing the answer is yes. You saw the picture and thought this up. Enjoyable read.

Thanks, Dan. I actually wrote this about two months ago, but missed that "witty epitaph" prompt. I just kept it on the shelf until now. I also had a completely different picture initially, but switched it when the votes weren't coming in as well as I thought the would. Seems it ddn't matter much in the grand scheme of things, LOL.
Thanks for the complimentary review. Always appreciated. :}

I love his name and the risque play on words - what a hysterically funny story line
I also love true tongue-fu master LOL
clever proximate rhyme in died/inscribed
this is one of the best witty epitaph entries I've read in many repetitions of this contest :-) Brooke

Hah-ha, well, Brooke...I wish about 6 more voters had felt that way. Unfortunately here on FanStory, I am finding out that you can leave very little to the readers imagination. It seems you have to smack them right in the face with your message to get your point across.
But, it was fun to write, and to compete.
Thanks so much for your complimentary review. To impress you made it all worthwhile. :}
