Hi, Teresa
I enjoyed your spirited free verse poem of faith. The use of the ball and chain provides a strong metaphor to help you convey the theme of your poem.
Well done!

Hi T. I simply loved this amazing poem of Jesus, the way you wrote it is so sincere and deep. Your being positive towards living in the name of Jesus is so beautiful, I felt the comfort in your depth, a lovely poem T. I hope you are feeling much better. Sorry I have no stars, this poem does deserve many. Love u Terry xoox

It could very easily be put to music, Teresa, if one had the inclination and knowledge to do so.
Reads like many of the old slave hymns I've heard in the past, while they toiled in the fields of whatever plantation they happened to be on at the time.
Very nice, good stuff!

Reminded me of Paul's miraculous escape from prison.
As I read, it became clear that I was about to start singing, and then I got to your notes. I knew then that I was supposed to. It's a simple metaphoric message of the ball and chain being the sin/problems that weigh us down daily and that there will be a time we'll call out to be released from the pressure. Jesus is the answer and just like he did on the cross, he will carry the weight of our concerns for us. An excellent song of faith.

SOunds pretty good here. Admittedly though, I like to remove myown ball and chain and have no real need for Jesus to do so, but hey, what ever rows your boat. Good job.

Hi Teresa,
Yes, definitely a song! This has a rousing campfire-song-type ring to it.
Beautiful message. One thought, though - often people who have the ball and chain on them, don't seem to have access to the key, right? That's where miracles come into play, I guess. :)
Until next time,
Love,
Sonali :)

Good devotional song lyric, with fine use of repetition and good flow, dear friend. Definitely sounds like song lyrics...no question about it. Good random near-slant rhymes with assonance, like in down and found, scratch and back.
NO suggestions.
God Bless!
