It probably was an incentive. There has been a horse meat scandal in Europe recently, where frozen horse meat has been marketed as beef. Effective story in its own right. Well narrated, lovely picture of the horses. Good luck in the contest. Faye

I live in the heart of thoroughbred horse country where even just the thought of someone eating horse is strictly taboo, but once many years ago I tasted it while traveling. It was great, a deep dark meat with little to no fat. But I must admit, I was tricked into eating it, and my first bite was my last. Great thought provoking post. :-)

Hi Ric. Thanks for the review. well, I surely wouldn't eat most horses, too full of medication...and I love them too much. Though cows are pretty cool as well.

That was so wrong, and yet I'm still smiling.
Good story. I liked the fact that Lemieux was trying to save some horses. But the ending was just classic. I'm thinking he trained harder after that. Great story, I liked and got involved in the characters (which is amazing for a 60 word story).

haha. this is a cute story, maybe slightly morbid. we had a goat while living in kenya for a while. it was supposed to go to a new farm with all the fields you can eat. guess what we had for dinner?:)
