That was a most satisfying and original ending. A twist I doubt anyone saw coming, but you made it work which makes for a great story. Can't think of any kind of critique. Perhaps some of the dialogue is funnier than I believe these guys could be. But, I can't complain about laughing too much can I! mikey

A fine ending, and worth the wait.
A very convincing convincer in the end, and thoroughly enjoyable through all parts.
Smitty makes me spurt my drink out my nose. It's the only unpleasant part of this tale.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, JB. Ending is story is the hardest part. Loose ends everywhere. I'm thinking of writing another story giving Smitty the starring role. He's a corker. Thanks again. Peace, Lee

this is an excellent ending, humpwhistle, junior is telling the truth and tells jimmy about problems with his car, herb is taking care of his son and drew him to a place where someone would take care of him.

Super! That took some thought to pull off, why you're the writer and I be the reader. That whole moth zookeeper deal had me laughing my ass off. Such a great town, I love it and these guys, they took him in, no matter. Love it and you did it so efficiently with still stuff left to the imagination and speculation. I look forward to the original too.

Unbelievable, you are stocked up on fairy dust hw. Worth much more though. Thanks for my fairy dust too. Stocked up my drawer.

Oh, Vicki, thank you so much for reading the entire saga. And it does feel like a saga to me. I hope you don't mind if I just thank you once. It's a treat for me to hear from someone who's read it straight through. With installments, I can be sure I'm keeping all the balls in the air throughout.
I'm glad you laughed. Four-Bits is that kind of place. Strange and serious things can happen, but somehow humor and decency always prevail in Four-Bits. Thanks you so much, Vicki, for all the shiny stars. Peace, Lee

Of course one reply! I was going to say please don't worry about replying to each one. It was great to just be able to cruse through each chapter. Lots and lots of great things about this story line, it doesn't want to die, it wants to keep going.

Thank you, Hw, for the entertaining story--another good one from the master. Loved the characters, dialogue and humor. The conclusion was most satisfactory. Applaud, applaud!

I think this is a good ending for your story. Like you say not all things in Four-Bits can be explained. I liked the explanation of Junior's past and how his father is making sure he is okay, even from the grave. 8-)

Herb Granger, Jr...... a little bit nutty..... a lot a bit genius... I enjoyed this Lee, (as always) The conclusion is more than satisfactory. He has a place to live and a place to carry out his dad's mission. What more could anybody who is 4 cylinders short of a V8 want anyway?

Oops! There goes my last sixer - I've been sprinkling them like confetti tonight!

Great conclusion wraps all the ends up nicely and more importantly keeps the entertainment flowing. Not to mention giving possibilities for future stories....

.... which I wouldn't mind reading.

Well done, again.

You pulled it all together nicely and so visual. Everything you write is clear and allows my imagination to follow along without telling me what to see. I like that.

This one also would allow itself to be filmed in the vain of a Twilight Zone. A Ray Bradburyesque story.

BTW I understand we have a mutual friend - Jill Reese.
