Sawyer looks so spiffy with his hair slicked back! I delighted in the notion of measuring joy "by the smile" and thoroughly enjoyed your rhymed couplets. Your use of alliteration, color and sound added to the poem's charm. Many smiles- Joan, from Tahoe

Hi Brooke, sorry I just can't keep up on here. I really like the examples of sound and sight you've used; all giving cheerful imagery. Good alliterations, of course, and the flow is right. So much to smile about and what a sweet smile you chose:)

Sawyer would bring a smile to anyone's face. May he always be as happy as he is today. If we could only hold onto the joy we knew as children, when all things are new and wonderful.

Little children truly do see God's glory in places and ways that we (often) have forgotten to look. A lovely study in appreciation, Brooke!

I love this poem, Brooke! You are the master of poetic phrases that fit so perfectly together, sound so clear, and ring so true.
This is so cute I wonder sometime where our smiles go as the years roll by. Great meter and rhymes always make your work a pleasure to read and review.
All the best,
Rodger

I love this format, first of all. It's so bouncy - and perfect for this particular message, Brooke. It makes the reader smile! The fourth stanza is my favourite, largely because it mentions all of my favourite colours.
Lovely stuff, and brilliant photos!

Now that is miles of smiles, the only respite maybe doing a handstand. That first awesome cup of coffee in the morning; the dog wagging her curly tail so hard her butt wags- smiles abound for everyone and it would be great if they could redraw the map.

This is yet another beautiful and interesting poem that the author has created with this piece of work. The pictures are truly joyous and the poem does them justice.

Your mention of mile measurements and time measurements were exactly the right comparisons to place size and scope in my mind. Indeed, if joy were ALWAYS measured by the smile. Such a beautiful poem, AGAIN, my friend.
Love your last two lines. Thank you for sharing these words and the darling photos of Sawyer. Those put a large smile on my face.

Your poem is wonderful and your muse in four parts is clearly in control of your heart and mind as you seem to see the world of beauty through his young eyes. The top right hand pic is my fav! Great stuff... Dennis
