Hi Brooke,
I loved the feel you injected into this rispetto... it had a real sea shanty feel and drove that feeling home with the Starfish refrain... wonderful construction and beautifully formatted... loved the colours and visual, it set the tone of what came next... you are rated 'one' for good reason... exceptional.
With our thoughts we create,
safe harbour,

I feel the need to free my soul is a powerful line like the force of the waves. Love the mention of the starfish and how the storm affects them. There is feeling and emotions in your words.

Like how included that Starfish even breathed a sigh of relief. As always, the rhyming is smooth. You paint a very vivid picture with just eight lines. Well crafted. Les

Les, thanks so much for your positive comments - since the comments are all positive, can I ask if you meant the 4 rating?

I loved the art work for these words written.
When a storm happens it shows its presence in a big way.
Some sea creatures survive and many die.

Great artwork of the ferocious sea. Like the use of the tiny starfish cowering against the crashing waves. A lovely rispetto and an enjoyable read.

''A Storm came crashing toward the shore --
While Starfish cowered at its roar ''
Love those two lines in this stark presentation; the imagery strong indeed. I like the change of structure in the two stanzas without losing its impetuous.
For only two stanzas, a formidable delivery indeed.
Well done,

Outstanding! I will be reading as much of your work as possible. I am currently writing a novel and bringing my creativity to the next level. I have written thousands of poems and I'm just now putting the out there for review.
Thank you for your post

Brooke:
What a marvelous rispetto. It's hard to decide
whether you wrote the poem for the picture or
selected the picture for the poem - they fit
together so perfectly.
thanks for sharing

adewpearl,
This was wonderful because it was short and sweet. Also, the theme was well chosen. Your rhyming was very good. I like many things about the Italians, this style was just one more thing I liked.
There was no SPAG, and no typos.
I look forward to seeing you again.
Love you,
