What true words. We need to respect trees for what they are and for all they give to us. They are a wonderful gift to the Earth. You selected excellent artwork to reinforce your message. No wonder you won. This is excellent.

You present three very distinct and important truths about trees. It irritates the daylights out of me when people go chopping them down for no good reason. One excellent reason to keep them is the oxygen they provide. I'm so glad that you brought to the reader's attention. A very strong piece. Straight to the point and straight to the heart.

As somebody who is so frustrated at this point with human apathy to caring for the environment, this resonates deeply with me. It portrays the importance of trees in each of our lives, and the eternal life and strength that trees' stand for. This poem so immensely appreciates and recognizes trees' importance in so few words.

I am so glad you like it...can you tell me why you low rated it...what was wrong with it...that is what four stars tells...thank you...

Yes! I simply didn't care for the punctuation and capitalization. I would have used capitalized letters at the beginning of each line to demonstrate the importance, as well as, at least, a period in the last line to make it more demanding and to express your emotion and opinion about respecting trees. Other than that it was wonderful!

I.raven;
My most sincere congratulations on winning this contest for this is an sensational piece of poetry.
It is very fresh and new and shows the replenishment of life.
The imagery is very descriptive and eloquently expressive throughout this 5/7/5 syllabic format. The act of bringing divinity and to the life of a tree is truly inspirational and enlightening.
Thank you so much for sharing and posting this for everyone to read and may the good Lord be with you always my friend.

So; a contest winner. I read so few of these 'poems' that I cannot tell the good from the bad. I do wonder what it means to 'respect their purpose.'
Trees are but a natural development of nature and granted, without plants, oxygen would soon be depleted. the way we are currently headed, our Garden of Eden (the world) will soon not support human life and when humanity disappears, the world wll be a better place. I can respect that thought.

That goes for grass too, and all fauna and flora. Lot of folks here-a-bouts have taken a liking to asphalt, concrete, and stones. Congratulations. Kenny

This is a great 5-7-5 poem. I also love trees! This artwork is perfect. A work of art written from the heart.
(A tree is a friend)
A poem and info on trees and why we need them.
A tree is a friend who will stand up tall for you. A tree will never walk out on you. A tree will always show its true colors.
A tree will give you a shady spot on those long dog days of summer. A tree will protect you, your family and your home from the mighty winter winds of old man winter.
What's not to love when trees breath in pollutants and breath out pure oxygen.
If you give a tree a start it will find its way into your heart. Trees will grow on you.
Plant a tree today, enjoy a better world tomorrow.
* Trees muffle urban noise
* A mature tree produce as much oxygen in 6 mouths as 10 people breath in a year.
* To produce its food trees absorbs and locks away carbon dioxide, a global warming suspect.
* Trees help clean the air, intercepting airborne particles and absorbing such pollutants as carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide.
* Trees shade and cool the air and surface. Shade can cut heat some 20 degrees, chopping down energy cost.
* During cold seasons, trees act as windbreaks and save on heating. Trees save you money on heating and cooling now that's a true friend or should I say tree friend.
* Trees fight soil erosion, conserve rainwater and reduce water runoff and sediment deposit after storms.
* Real estate values increase when trees beautify a property or neighborhood.
(Trees are majestic and mighty. Trees are beautiful, trees are wonderful a gift from God)
We have a Family Tree it's called- ~The Cross~
We are Family
We are Brothers
We are Sisters
Look at Jesus hands & feet
These scares are for you
This blood is for you
We are Family
We share the same blood
The precious blood of Jesus
