Lol, I can almost see the looks of disapproval on the stodgy old ladies of the garden club. Your rhyming and imagery are delightful as are all the funny questions of the meanings of flower names. As for me, I just put them in the ground and pray they do what they're supposed to. :) Sometimes they do.

Thanks Karen. I haven't read it to them yet and maybe I won't. But... they do have a sense of humor....I think. So glad you liked it. I too put them in the ground and pray they do what they're supposed to do.

What an enjoyable read this is. Your meter and rhymes were terrific and made this feel like a little tumble on the grass. Whatever the opposite of having a green thumb is, that's what I have. Only the strong survive in my yard, lol. Hugs, Lou

Thank you Lou for your thoughtful and encouraging review. I understand. I only plant hardy plants that are native to the area where I live. Others don't survive in my yard either.

This is such a sweet and clever poem. You rhymed very well in each verse and they flow evenly and effortlessly into the next verse throughout. Your picture of an adorable tot accompanies your work well as it sounds like a child talking in your poem. Well done and well written.

Well as president maybe you have the ability to lead and keep them on task which sometimes is more important. I loved your little poem about all the beautiful flowers. Your rhyme and rhythm is great.

Aah - this poem touched my heart. I suspect your thumbs are much greener than you let on. You write about plants with the love of an instinctive gardener. And who (apart from botanists) need worry about Latin names? Great use of rhyme - and the repeated call to the ladies of the garden club is witty and affectionate. Thank you so much - this is a joy.

your poem is so well written ... omg the rhymes jump right off the page and ring tempo is flawlessly penned. You have a fine gift for technical writing and not only that, but your content is clever and engaging as well.
This poem is a ten star if the rating went that high.
I loved this poem ... so talented!

I delight reading your little ditty. if you want to enjoy yourself without having to become a Latin expert, begin taking seeds out of everything that has some in your kitchen and see how many you get to germinate.
Pine-cone seeds as well. I planted a grapefruit seed in a pot in West Virginia and kept it indoors in the winter. When it was four I gave it to a lady friend and she had two monster pink grapefruit to eat the next year.

What a delightful rhyme. I think your lucky to get pleasure from daisies and meadows. Who cares what all their names are.
A humerous poem with just a hint of satire. Good BD end rhyming.

It sounds to the reader that you know a hell of a lot! You might consider being president of the garden club with all the rhyming and naming of specific flowers, plants, and vines, going on, and with no spelling or grammatical errors either. I give you an A+ for its cleverness and cuteness of its surface appearance knowing that the mind had to do a little head work for everything to come together so smoothly.
