Shadows are cool to play with.... I remember shadow puppets, but that was too long ago. Well thought out poem. Clearly written. Great poetic form. Good flow of rhythm and rhymes. Fantastic work.

I just love the perfect detail of accurately describing the morning glory that opens to the entrance of the sun. (Love morning glories!) I also love shadows and all the cool things they do and all at our simple little gestures. I'm still like him with my shadow. Hahaha. mikey

Yes shadow dancing is a fave of the kids, big and small and these are great rhyming quatrains to go with this photo of Sawyer.Love the thought, - he never tells me where he's been - lovely cheery read Brooke.

Brooke,
Made me smiggle and do a happy dance. LOL Nicely done. I remember when looking at my shadow was so much fun. Imagery is excellent. Hope you're having a great day.
Love,
Barbara

I already spotted your poem on the front page. Nice how Sawyer can't understand yet why the sun and the shadows disappear to but he sure misses them.

nice proximate rhyme

Can't help to think of that old time song, "Me & My Shadow" after reading your poem. Sawyer seems to really experiencing such a very good childhood...Even learning about his own shadow friend on a sunny day...Very nice poem for children & adults, too, to contemplate.

Brooke, once more you create the fantasy of a child's mind and bring it fresh to the adult. I enjoyed the rhyming scheme and meter. Nicely done. :0 GracieAnn

Like the feel of this, as his shadow friend represents so many imaginary buddies I've known when I was a kid. As always, this is very uplifting. Great write! Les

Your poem reminds me a bit of Peter Pan looking for his shadow - making it a living things and bringing it too life with the imagination of a child.
