Is that Texas or California? If Cali, that's my old stomping grounds and I don't recall seeing that! But, then, I'm no Samuel Hill! Love that name. I knew I wouldn't mind the two cents on one of your pieces. Big smile! Mikey

Sawyer lives in California. Perhaps you just didn't travel into the wilds of Pasadena where the exhibit is. LOL Thanks, Mikey :-) Brooke

I am so glad I came across this charming poem. I have not been around that much lately, shame on me. Never mind. I am making up for lost time.
Another one that makes me chuckle. This time at Samuel Hill's adventures. He is quite a guy. Smart, talented, and must be handsome too.
Love the way it reads and flows. Fantastic.

I like this legend of a multi-talented individual who handles platypus and dinosaurs. Your words take the reader on an adventure,telling a tale in poetic form. This is a fun poem to read again and again.

Samuel Hill has great adventures discovering life in every things he touches. Sawyers sees life though his parents and the ones you create for him as his grandmother. Love of nature and can give a buoyant spirit and trust in God.

That is a great story in a poem. I really liked the end rhyming and the alternative use of Sam and Samuel in each verse.
Those Dinosaur teeth In your illustration are no match I'm sure for Samuel Hill.
Sorry I have no sixes, of which your work is more than deserving

Oh, my dear. I so enjoy your whimsy. I asked my #1 son to interpret a recent poem posted by the #2 poet. i could not make heads nor tails of it and asked him if he could. He dropped it on my bed a few minutes ago and said, "this kind of (expletive deleted) just (expletive deleted)me off. This is one of your lessor poems, but I am going to make a copy and ask him to comment. If his comment is a 6* equivalent you are getting one of mine.
Pity: he said it rhymes and it flows but it is not his type of folderol. So you get an excellent review. The next time you post what ia a block-buster to me, I will pulse him again. If you ever watched the Tonight Show when Leno hosted it, My #1 was the director and cameraman for the Jay-walk segments and I proudly announce that he has two Emmy awards (which he says are no worth the metal they contain). That was my opinion also until he won them. Proud dads: Yuk Foo.

Sorry this is not your son's cup of tea :-) Thank you for your thoughtful review. I'm impressed with you son's accomplishments but fear I did not see his work as I am a loyal Letterman fan :-)

I have never seen his work. I haven.t watched or owned a TV since the seventies. As a brilliant rhymer once wrote:
I don't watch TV so it's a given;
i'm not a part of the culture I live in.

You've never seen your own son's work? You wouldn't make this little exception? Dad, watch one of his tapes! ;-)

This is another fun and rhyming poem that could make a wonderful children's book. The character reminds me of the tall tells I heard as a child about Davey Crocket and Paul Bunyan.

What a delightful poem! I'm certain it would appeal to children of all ages. I can just imagine reading it to our grandbaby; she'd love it. The repetition of the name in various forms would make her laugh and the repetition and rhyme at the ends of lines would probably have her jumping up and down. As for the rhythm, well, it's strong and rollicking - just what would encourage a child to repeat various snippets and words. The story itself is so full of fantasy, this would surely be a winner with any child (or adult). Thanks for a lovely read.
