An exquisite and beautifully colored writing - words and image. The thoughts behind the words are so apt, especially as society becomes more fragmented and self interested.

The ties that bind, the threads that weave a life divine, carefully conceived.
Such a wonderfully composed and well presented free verse on your family tree and history, boxergirl. The different colored backgrounds lent to this a scrapbook feel, which was so fitting to accommodate your poetic narrative.
Well done!

What creative formatting to enhance the meaning of your poem. It also makes it visually Easton follow and read. The quilt or tapestry has such a colorful and varied pattern to give it life.

Each one of us are uniquely different and I believe that's what makes each one so special. We all have our little things that need fixing but overall most of us are ok people..
Well done, Buck

We have completed our family tree from many different directions. A tapestry is a good metaphor for it. Each tree has some gallant souls and most have a few skeletons, but all play a part of the whole.

The theme, writing and presentation should earn you a six, but I am out for the week. Just know how good I thought this was. Nice imagery of the fabric and the threads that hold the family 'quilt' together. Great job on this.

Hi, Karen.
This is a great poem, a tapestry of colour to reflect your family. People who are so important to one's life, adding the spice and zest we all long for. Family offers a place of belonging, a place of acceptance and love without judgement. Great poem. Best of luck in the contest.
Bye
Rosalyne :)

i'm contemplating on taking a tattoo that is the kanji for family. i would never have lived without our extensive family.
coming back to your poem, i like the way you structure the poem as strands. very clever!
thank you for sharing!
good luck in the contest!
