I'm a bit late, aren't I, but I know you are pleased to see me, you were getting worried, weren't you? LOL. Right, one thing about being late, I get to read the second half straight away! :) I really like old Gentleman Stein, he's far more truthful than the phony rascal, Dilby. And, he knows Dilby is an idiot! So, what is the deal? I am going to find out! xxx Sandra

Yep - You got me intrigued. I love a good piratesque adventure.
Small typo... More importantly, he's[the] certain the Clebowitz Map he's managed to track down is the genuine article.

I read Part 2 first, thinking I was reading Part 1. I thought, "This shit makes no sense." AND THEN I realized I was reading out of order. Wow. What a difference it makes when you read Part 1 first. Anyhow, another one of your dialog-rich writes. The funniest is the standing/sitting/standing/sitting throughout. Onto Part 2 . . . again.

Great entertainment here, Lee. Your characters are straight from your ever expanding repertoire of funny men. Stein is a classic and although I'm not from the US, I have heard that voice so many times on TV. And his made up words are fantastic (love his names for the fake Brit; Mr Buckinghead lol. The conversations with Still Mo, and his reasons for talking to him had me in stitches. I must read the rest.

Thank you again, Mark. I'm not sure it comes through, but I had Mel Brooks in mind when I was writing Stein. It always helps me to 'cast' my characters as I write. Walter Matthau would be good, too. Glad you enjoyed. Peace, Lee
Comment from Pyrrho
Excellent prose but it drags a bit. On the other hand your descriptive originality almost makes up for the pace and the repeated up-down-up.
more like a hoarse Margaret Thatcher. Or, Margaret Thatcher's horse ... good one
off shiny night-crawler lips ... you are beginning to impress me with original cliche-type descriptions.

Hump-
Now yer a pirate, for Pete's sake? Fan-frickin'-tastic!
Your Author Notes cracked me up. I tried eliding once, in Mexico, and dang near got arrested. I guess yer s'posed to keep yer pants on while eliding and stuff.
Anyway, I shall be off to read part two.
As always, your attention to the tiny details just buffs out the finish in a very tasty manner. Margaret Thatcher's horse, indeed... chortling.

Hey, JB, thank you. Yeah, eliding is frowned on south of the border. I'm delighted you enjoyed. I just posted the conclusion.

You have an amazing way with dialogue and character building. Both go along way to making the story both fun and entertaining.
Your voice and style are both refreshing and extremely sarcastic, which suits me just fine. The best part is you keep it going steady through the entire story.
Onward to the next part.

Hi there,
You have lots of great reviews already, so ya don't need me to tell you how awesome this story is gonna be. Aye.. me hearty it is.. Dilby,, where in the world do you come up with these names? I love it. And, it fits the little map- swindling pirateeeeer to the T.
I think the funniest description is the brillo pad eye-brows. Bring on #2...

Thanks again, Carolyn. Ireally do love naming my characters. Somehow, the names give me a sense of them. With luck the reader gets a sense of them, too. So glad you enjoyed. Peace, Lee

Stein didn't look up from his sandwich. He appeared a wizened old raisin with a mushroom cap for a nose. He wore a potato-brown broad...
Were you hungry when you wrote this? :-)
Love:Brillo pad eyebrows.
Super characterization of the Jew who's nobody's fool and
the con man who trying to pass for an aristocrat of sorts.
He's sure the map is authentic is a line that hooks this reader. I'll continue with Part II after I take my walk.
Hugs,
Shari
