With your assessment
I have to agree
Roly polys do roll up
For they've no speed to flee
the danger coming their way
So they roll up and pray
for a better day
Well done, Buck

Ah ye,s the never ending curiosity of a child. I see he's transitioned from ants to Rolly Polly bugs. A cute little poem that asks the obvious question. Well done as always.

Treischel, thank you so much :-) Ah, he has not abandoned the ants, though - he was enjoying them on the same walk. LOL Brooke

You find fun in the most simple things that usual go without much notice. I love the playful tone in the poem and the little brilliance in the fact that questions with the answer of "no" should go. Very clever!

I never thought of it that way. It does answer its own question now that you've put it that way. Ha! So perfect for kids, in other words, me. mikey

wow!i think that's a brilliant piece of work...the theme of childhood is strongly evoked through the incorporation of roly poly bugs with childhood games.the rhyming couplets add a chant like quality to the poem and the strong assonance of 'o' in 'roly poly bugs roll' is simply excellent and further carries the childlike tone.Great work!keep it up!!!!!

Wow! How thoughtful and perceptive you are.
It just goes to show how much inspiration nature provides.
I loved this delightful poem.
The light-hearted,yet very perceptive study of the roly poly bug was enlightening and factual.
